That update changed discovery so interacting with deployables can count as crafting them for recipe unlocks in group play, which matters whenever a recipe chain depends on the game recognizing that you have already made or discovered something. Abiotic Factor has multiple teleport systems, and mixing them together is one of the fastest ways to waste time. Syncing Crafting Benches after you craft it

Hold the Personal Teleporter, aim at a powered Crafting Bench, and press F with the default interact binding to sync that bench. The bench needs electricity only during the initial sync. Once it has been registered, you can teleport to it even when it is no longer powered.

That “synced” state is the whole trick. You are not powering a permanent teleporter network so much as registering destinations to the handheld device. Because the power requirement only applies at the moment of registration, you can briefly connect a battery or charger, sync the bench, and then leave the destination unpowered afterward.

If an older save still behaves strangely

A June 28, 2024 hotfix addressed an older-save issue where Personal Teleporters could require players to package and redeploy a Crafting Bench before working. In other words, separate recipe visibility from teleporter function. If the item does not appear in the Crafting Bench list, troubleshoot discovery and the Memory Brick requirement.
