Amazon Luna Is Inside Prime Video on Fire TV—What Prime Members Can Actually Play

The change is primarily about reducing launch friction. Luna no longer requires Fire TV users to treat cloud gaming as a separate destination: eligible Prime members can find the service through a Games tab inside the Prime Video app they already use for video.

Amazon is positioning that shortcut toward players without a console or gaming PC. Its calculation is that the potential audience extends beyond the roughly 500 million console and PC owners to billions of people who play games on other devices. Fire TV becomes the screen, Prime provides the access point, and Amazon’s cloud infrastructure runs the game remotely.

What the Fire TV integration includes

The initial rollout is limited to Prime subscribers in the United States and United Kingdom using Fire TV devices. From the Prime Video Games tab, players can start Luna titles without downloading a game or buying one to begin. The included catalog highlighted by Amazon includes Hogwarts Legacy, EA Sports FC 26, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Control remains the practical requirement. Players can pair a compatible Bluetooth controller, or use a smartphone as a controller through the relevant app. That means the service removes the need for a console or local installation, not the need for an input device and a stable enough connection for streamed play.

Existing Luna users are not being moved off the standalone service. Luna remains available through its other access paths, while the Prime Video tab adds a more visible route on Fire TV. For Prime members already using that hardware, the decision is straightforward: the new path makes sampling the catalog easier, with no separate game purchase required to start.

The immediate test is whether Fire TV users find the Games tab, have a compatible controller ready, and get a responsive enough stream for the games they choose.
