Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: All 16 Mayan Stelae + Armour Door

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: All 16 Mayan Stelae + Armour Door

FinalBoss·7/12/2026·3 min read

Prerequisites

Access to the Mayan stelae requires main-story progression to Sequence 04. Complete both “This Old Cove” and “Overrun and Outnumbered” to activate the Mayan Mysteries chain. Synchronize at least one viewpoint; Mayan stone icons appear on the world map only after a viewpoint is unlocked and the map is zoomed in.

Several stelae are located in zones unreachable during the initial story path. Expect to revisit islands after upgrading the Jackdaw or clearing naval obstacles.

Puzzle Mechanics

Interact with a stele to enter the rotation puzzle. Turn the stone segments until the glowing channels form an unbroken continuous line. Correct alignment produces an audio cue and visual confirmation, awarding one Mayan stone. There is no time limit. Exit and re-enter the interaction if the segments lock into an unsolvable position.

The Mayan Armour Door in Tulum

Once all 16 stones are collected, return to Tulum and enter the western section of the stronghold. Locate the sealed stone door and interact with it. The stones are placed automatically, opening the chamber. The Mayan Armour inside is available for Edward Kenway to equip immediately.

The armour provides substantial damage resistance and requires no additional crafting materials.

Verification and Common Issues

If the Tulum door does not open, confirm the following:

  • Great Inagua check: The story-gated stone from “This Old Cove” is mandatory. If the sequence was interrupted, return to the ruins to verify the pickup.
  • Map icon visibility: Mayan stelae icons render only at close zoom after viewpoint synchronization. Zoom in fully on each island to confirm no markers remain.
  • Tulum stele versus door: Tulum contains both a stele in the western stronghold corner and the separate armour door. Solving the local stele awards one stone; the door requires all sixteen.
