As a long-time fan of the Assetto Corsa series, I can barely contain my excitement about the latest announcement from 505 Games and KUNOS Simulazioni.
Mark your calendars, fellow sim racers: Assetto Corsa EVO is coming to Steam Early Access on January 16, 2025!
When I first got my hands on the original Assetto Corsa, I was blown away by its dedication to realism and the sheer joy of virtual driving. Now, with Assetto Corsa EVO, it looks like we’re in for a treat that will redefine our expectations of what a racing sim can be.
The newly released trailer (which you absolutely need to watch!) showcases in-game footage that left my jaw on the floor. The level of detail is simply staggering – from the meticulously crafted car models to the dynamic lighting that brings tracks to life like never before.
As someone who’s spent countless hours fine-tuning setups and chasing lap times, I can’t wait to experience the new proprietary engine that KUNOS has developed specifically for this game, especially after the disappointment of Forza Motorsport 8
One of the most exciting aspects of Assetto Corsa EVO is the promise of full 24-hour race cycles with dynamic weather and track conditions. Imagine the strategy and skill required to navigate a rain-soaked Nordschleife as day turns to night! It’s the kind of immersive experience that we sim racers live for.
The diverse car roster has always been a strength of the series, and EVO seems to be taking it to the next level. From nimble classics to modern hypercars and purpose-built racers, there’s something for every automotive enthusiast.
And with KUNOS’ advanced simulation systems, each vehicle promises to offer a unique and authentic driving experience.
Marco Massarutto, KUNOS Simulazioni’s co-founder, emphasizes the team’s commitment to quality, which explains the Early Access approach. As impatient as I am to dive in, I appreciate their dedication to delivering a product that meets the high standards we’ve come to expect from the Assetto Corsa name.
The sim racing community has been buzzing with speculation and wishlists for this new installment, and from what we’ve seen so far, Assetto Corsa EVO aims to fulfill many of those desires. The photorealistic visuals, expanded features, and new gameplay modes hint at a game that could keep us entertained for years to come.
As we count down the days to January 16, 2025, I’ll be keeping a close eye on Assetto Corsa’s news for more details about the game’s features. If you’re as excited as I am, head over to the Steam store page and add it to your wishlist.
Get ready, sim racers. The next evolution of our beloved hobby is just around the corner, and it’s looking absolutely incredible. See you on the virtual track!
