Beast of Reincarnation’s Fix Plan Targets Its Biggest Launch Problems

Game Freak director Kota Furushima has apologized for Beast of Reincarnation’s rough launch and committed to ongoing fixes for pacing, cutscenes, bugs, camera controls, and PC performance.

Version 1.0.7 is the immediate benchmark for whether Game Freak’s recovery plan is more than a statement. Released less than a week after launch, it adjusts the camera, enlarges text, rebalances bosses across every difficulty, fixes bugs, widens the parry window, and makes small story-pacing changes. It also changes cinematic playback so 24 FPS cutscenes are no longer the default, though players can still choose that option.

Director Kota Furushima said parts of Beast of Reincarnation did not provide a “sufficiently enjoyable experience” and identified more areas needing attention. The next updates are meant to go beyond stability: Game Freak has named story pacing, cutscene skipping, usability, and further camera work as active targets. The important test is practical. Players replaying story-heavy sections should check whether scenes can be skipped reliably without blocking progression, and whether the revised flow reduces interruptions between combat encounters.

That combat remains the game’s clearest strength. Emma fights alongside Ku, her Blight-infected canine partner, using parries to build stagger and a command system that pauses time when players press Y on Xbox or Triangle on PlayStation. Commands consume FP earned through coordinated attacks. Better camera response and clearer interface text matter because both systems demand quick reads during crowded battles.

PC owners should separate official support from workarounds. The current menu exposes DLSS, FSR 1, and FSR 3, but not a native frame-generation toggle or FSR 4. Furushima has said Game Freak plans DLSS 4/4.5 and FSR4-related improvements, plus frame generation, but the delivery date and final in-game options have not been specified. External mods and Engine.ini edits can enable frame generation today, but they are not official features and do not apply to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S.

For now, install v1.0.7, use the Performance visual setting, test camera feel and cutscene behavior in a saved story segment, and wait for native frame generation rather than treating unofficial PC tools as part of Game Freak’s roadmap.
