Why Track Down All Expedition 33 Mimes?

Mime bosses aren’t just quirky side-challenges—they drop exclusive outfits, haircuts and Pictos you can’t find anywhere else. Nail these battles for 100% completion, gear up your break-damage build for late-game fights, and show off rare cosmetics like Clea’s haircut or the Luminous ensemble. Don’t sleep on the Lumiere Prologue Mime—it’s 100% missable!

Quick Preparation Checklist

  • Abilities: Equipe Esquie’s Breaking Corals & Flight
  • Pictos that boost Break Damage and status effects
  • At least one high-break skill per party member
  • Unlocked fast travel points in major regions

Top 5 Mime Bosses & How to Find Them

1. Lumiere Prologue Mime [MISSABLE]

Where: Right off the prologue stage, past the market towards the harbor—turn right into the first warehouse alley.
Reward: Lumiere Music Record

Pro tip: Strip-down your party here first—no return after the opening sequence.

2. Spring Meadows Mime

Where: From Grand Meadow fast travel, take the left path, grapple around the cliff’s edge to a circular stone platform with four pillars.
Reward: Baguette Outfit & Gustave Haircut

3. Flying Waters Mime

Where: Exit Coral Cave fast travel, head to the Nevron, slip into the seaweed patch left of the ledges, then climb to a glowing platform.
Reward: Short Maelle Haircut

4. The Continent Double Mime

Where: On the red-treed island NW of Old Lumiere, SW of Visages. Requires Breaking Corals and Stone Waves Cliffs completion.
Reward: Luminous Haircuts (Lune & Sciel)

Warning: Two barriers at once—bring extra break support or stagger your attacks to avoid a dual retaliation.

5. Sunless Cliffs Solo Mime

Where: Step through the Chroma Portal fast travel for a one-character 1v1 underworld test.
Reward: Bald Haircut variants & “The One” Picto

Solo challenge: Rotate your strongest breaker—try Verso for burst break or Maelle for speed runs.

Battle Strategy Essentials

Every Mime starts with an impenetrable barrier. Focus 100% on break damage—MP/AP spent on anything else is wasted until that shield shatters. Pack your party with high-gradient and status Pictos, then unleash finishers once the barrier is down.

  • Key moves: Gustave’s Overcharge/Shatter, Lune’s Rockslide, Maelle’s Fleuret Fury, Verso’s Perfect Break
  • Parry the first slap combo by ear (right-left-headbutt) and the slower hammer “whoosh” combo on sound cues.

Advanced Tips

  • If you keep getting wiped, swap Sciel or Lune in for healing/control.
  • Upgrade underleveled break skills at Menu → Skills → Upgrade.
  • Missed the Prologue Mime? Only a new save will get you that record.
  • For dual-Mime fights, break one barrier at a time to avoid overlapping counterattacks.
