Sciel should be your support when Maelle or another ally is already carrying the team’s damage; build her as burst DPS when the party can protect her setup turns and create a clean boss-damage window. Her core rule stays the same in either role: Sun skills apply Foretell, Moon skills consume it, and holding both a Sun and Moon charge turns Foretell into Twilight. Twilight begins at the start of Sciel’s turn and lasts for two turns, so the biggest mistake is spending Moon skills before the Foretell stacks and timing window are worth cashing out.
Sciel’s kit rewards sequence control. A Sun action builds the target’s Foretell stacks and contributes to her Sun/Moon cycle. Moon actions are the payoff: they consume Foretell for stronger damage or extra effects. Once Sciel has access to both charge types, she can enter Twilight and gain a much stronger two-turn stretch for damage or team support.
Plan that state before the boss becomes vulnerable, before your carry receives a damage boost, or before an enemy’s dangerous turn. Twilight is far less valuable when it starts after the party has already spent its AP and burst tools.
A low-stack Moon cast can still be correct when the party urgently needs its added effect or AP value. Treat that as an emergency tool, though, rather than Sciel’s default rotation. Her strongest turns come from preserving the payoff until the team can exploit it.
Support Sciel is the more consistent route for story progression and long boss fights. Her job is to apply Foretell, feed AP or tempo to the party, and make sure the main carry gets a protected, high-value damage turn. She still deals damage, but personal crit chasing takes second place to turn order and team stability.

Forestion is a strong utility-focused weapon direction for this role, while Scieleson can remain useful until the rest of the build is in place. The priority is dependable setup and survival, since a support Sciel who misses the party’s timing window loses more value than one who gives up a small amount of personal damage.
A practical support package includes Final Preparation, Furious Fortune, Intervention, Dark Purification, Dark Harvest, and Spectral Blade. Focus on the utility each skill provides in your version’s interface: reliable Foretell application, AP support, faster ally turns, damage amplification, and an emergency damage option.
Support Sciel fits especially well when Maelle is doing the heaviest damage. Set Foretell early, preserve Sciel’s utility until Maelle is ready to attack, and use the Twilight window to make the team’s best turn even better.
Burst Sciel turns the same Foretell loop inward. Instead of mainly enabling a teammate, she builds stacks quickly, reaches Twilight on schedule, and spends Moon attacks while the enemy is exposed or weakened. This route has a higher payoff, but it needs a party that can buy her the turns required to set up.

The important timing detail is the turn after the charge condition is met. Sciel gains Twilight at the start of her turn, so prepare the Sun and Moon sequence with her next turn in mind. If the enemy will attack before that point, use the rest of the party to stabilize first; a burst build loses much of its edge when Sciel is forced into defensive recovery during Twilight.

Ultimate Guide Strategy Guide + Weekly Pro Tips
Sciel works best beside allies who either exploit the tempo she creates or protect the setup she needs. The clearest three-character structures are below.
| Party structure | Sciel’s job | How to play the damage window |
|---|---|---|
| Sciel + Maelle + defensive or utility ally | Support Sciel applies Foretell, supplies tempo, and keeps Maelle ready to attack. | Save Sciel’s key utility until Maelle has AP and a safe opening. Twilight should begin before Maelle’s strongest turn, not after it. |
| Lune + Sciel + Maelle | Sciel is the burst core, with Lune opening the fight and Maelle supplying pressure as sub-DPS. | Use the opening turns to establish Foretell and control the fight, then let Sciel cash out during Twilight while the enemy is exposed. |
| Sciel + dominant carry + stabilizer | Support Sciel handles sequencing while the stabilizer reduces enemy pressure or covers recovery. | Use Sciel’s Moon timing for AP support or an ally-enabling action when the carry can convert it into immediate damage. |
Turn order matters more than raw character placement. With burst Sciel, give the team enough control to delay enemy pressure until Twilight is active. With support Sciel, make sure she can act before the carry’s key turn and before the enemy’s next dangerous move.
Use support Sciel when one ally already has the tools to dominate the team’s damage. Switch to burst Sciel once the party can consistently create safe setup turns and line up debuffs, AP, and boss vulnerability around her two-turn Twilight window.
