FBC Terminal responses do not alter mission progress or the reward. Finish all three questions to receive 200 Source, an Aberrant material, and an Echo; use Yes, Yes, No when you want the story-consistent sequence.
In Control Resonant, the FBC turns a catastrophe into paperwork: an early terminal in the “Up to the Task” sequence presents three institutional questions as though Dylan is being evaluated. The practical rule is much simpler. The terminal pays out when you complete all three responses. It does not grade the answers, alter the mission, or lock you into a story branch.
Use Yes, Yes, No if you want Dylan’s answers to match the information established by the story. Use any other combination if you prefer. The only response pattern that loses resources is refusing the exchange or leaving it before the third answer.

The FBC Terminal solution for “Up to the Task”
The early terminal offers three replies for each prompt: Yes, No, and I don’t know. For the lore-consistent sequence, answer the questions as follows:
- Was the lockdown caused by the Hiss? — Yes. The Hiss caused the crisis that put the FBC into lockdown.
- Is Director Jesse Faden still alive? — Yes. Jesse remains alive and is attempting to establish contact with Dylan through the Fault-related events.
- Was there a coup within the FBC? — No. The loss and disappearance of senior personnel do not establish an internal coup.
That sequence has narrative value, particularly if you are reading the terminal as a test of Dylan’s knowledge and identity. Mechanically, the reported outcome is the same as answering “I don’t know” three times: finish the exchange, get the resource bundle. There is no practical reason to reload because you picked the response that felt least certain.

What completing the exchange gives you
Submit a response to all three questions and the terminal grants 200 Source, one Aberrant material, and one Echo. The material and Echo names vary between guides, but the outcome does not: completing the conversation delivers the resource bundle.
The “Up to the Task” trophy or achievement triggers after the third answer. It does not require the Yes, Yes, No sequence. For an achievement run, treat the terminal as a short completion check: start the conversation, answer every prompt, and let the interaction resolve.
The terminal outcomes that actually matter
The confusing part is the terminal’s tone. It presents the exchange like an FBC examination, but its mechanical logic is closer to an optional resource encounter. Your response can express a reading of the situation; only finishing the conversation affects the payout.
- Finish all three questions — You receive 200 Source, an Aberrant material, and an Echo. Mission progress stays the same, and the achievement or trophy triggers after the third response.
- Refuse the exchange or leave early — You get nothing from the terminal, and the achievement or trophy does not trigger.
This distinction matters because the terminal arrives during a stretch where Control Resonant encourages close reading of strange FBC systems. The interface is deliberately ambiguous, but it does not turn that ambiguity into a permanent penalty. Take the rewards, then carry on with the mission.

Use the answers as lore, not as a puzzle key
The three questions still matter as characterization. The Yes, Yes, No sequence tells the person on the other end that Dylan understands the current state of the Bureau: the Hiss caused the lockdown, Jesse survived, and the FBC’s collapse cannot be reduced to an internal power grab.
The terminal caller does not identify themselves. The surrounding Manhattan spaces include concealed rooms that suggest someone hiding, watching, or gathering intelligence on the FBC, and the caller has enough access to use Bureau systems while avoiding a name. That makes the exchange read more like authentication or reconnaissance than a trivia quiz.
It is reasonable to treat the caller as an unknown observer trying to establish whether Dylan is still himself, what he knows about the lockdown, and how much of the FBC’s situation he can explain. The game does not name that observer, so assigning the voice to Jesse, a specific FBC survivor, or a hidden faction reaches beyond the terminal’s evidence.
Clean route through every FBC Terminal
- Activate the terminal and read the opening dialogue for its immediate lore context.
- For “Up to the Task,” enter Yes, Yes, then No if you want the story-consistent interpretation.
- Complete the third response even if you chose “I don’t know” on an earlier prompt.
- Collect the 200 Source, Aberrant material, and Echo after the exchange resolves.
- Do not quit, refuse, or walk away expecting the reward to be delivered later.
FBC Terminals reward completion, while their wording supplies the actual payoff: a small but useful view into how uncertain Dylan’s connection to the damaged Bureau has become.
