Crazy Taxi: World Tour Test Dates, Platforms and the Two Modes That Matter

Crazy Taxi: World Tour’s multiplayer-only closed network test runs September 11-13, 2026, with applications open until August 31 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam players.

This is a network test, not an early verdict on the full Crazy Taxi revival. SEGA is using the September event to put cross-play, matchmaking and private lobbies under pressure before Crazy Taxi: World Tour arrives in 2027, so solo players should not expect campaign content or progression systems.

Applications close August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT. The test begins September 11 at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET and ends at the same time on September 13. A SEGA account is required, and applicants must be at least 13. Entry is limited to selected applicants, with notifications expected from early September. Eligibility covers PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam; Nintendo Switch 2 is planned for the full game but is not listed for this test. Availability is focused on North America, Europe and Asia.

The playable slice contains two maps, four characters, six cars and vehicle tune-up options. Its centerpiece is Pickup Race: up to six players compete to deliver passengers, earn money and beat the clock. It is the closest test of whether the series’ classic route-planning and time-pressure loop works when rival drivers are sharing the city.

Cops ‘N’ Cabbies provides the more team-focused alternative, pitting two sides against one another in a mode described as 3v3. Both modes support Ranked Match matchmaking and Custom Matches, including private lobbies and adjustable rules. That gives prospective groups a reason to test more than handling: they can check whether cross-platform invites, lobby settings and connections hold up with their usual squad.

Players who receive access should prioritize public ranked sessions for matchmaking stability, then private matches for cross-play and party setup; story and single-player impressions will have to wait for the full release.
