Karin Quarry is a liberatable Bleed Bandit stronghold in Crimson Desert’s Hernand region. Reach it by travelling north from Hernand Town, crossing the river, then heading east of Three Saint’s Falls. To finish the area, clear the bandits, destroy the occupation buildings, defeat Marni’s Excavatron, and use the quarry crane to retrieve the buried relic for the Stolen Quarry quest.
The important catch: Karin Quarry is tied to the House Roberts quest progression. Complete Troubled Count, then advance Estate in Dismay until the journal gives you Stolen Quarry. The quest often uses “Stolen Quarry” rather than “Karin Quarry,” which makes the location easy to miss when checking objectives.
Karin Quarry sits north of Hernand Town in the Hernand region. The quickest route is to use Three Saint’s Falls as your landmark: cross the river north of town, move toward the falls, then continue east until you reach the quarry perimeter.
The white flags are the useful visual confirmation. They mark the occupied facilities that count toward the quarry’s liberation progress, so seeing them means you are in the right combat area rather than at one of the nearby caves or falls.
Karin Quarry is much smoother once the House Roberts chain has opened its related objective. Finish Troubled Count, continue Estate in Dismay, and enter the quarry after Stolen Quarry becomes available.
Waiting until Chapter 3 is also worthwhile. At that point, you can bring Greymanes into the battle, which gives you more breathing room during the crowded bandit sections. The quarry has enough enemies, traps, and explosive hazards that rushing it as an early detour turns a structured liberation into a long cleanup fight.
The quarry clear has four parts: reduce Bleed Bandit control, destroy the occupied facilities, defeat Marni’s Excavatron at the back of the site, and finish the crane objective. The boss alone does not always complete the liberation meter, so keep checking the area after the fight.
From the quarry entrance, move along the right-hand side. The Karin Quarry Infirmary is one of the first priority targets and is easy to identify from the white flags on its roof. Clear the nearby patrol before attacking the building, otherwise you can get boxed in while trying to destroy it.
A strong area attack destroys the infirmary quickly. Turning Slash is especially useful if you have it, since it damages the structure while giving you a fast way to hit nearby bandits. Removing this building early lowers the pressure around the entrance and starts reducing the occupation progress immediately.
The quarry punishes stationary fighting. Bleed Bandits are packed into groups, and explosive barrels are scattered around the site. Use the vertical layout, break line of sight when a group starts surrounding you, and pull enemies into open spaces before committing to longer attacks.
Explosive barrels help thin out the regular enemies, but they can also interrupt your movement near ledges and narrow quarry paths. Trigger them from a safe distance whenever possible.
The quarry’s occupation percentage only reaches zero after you deal with the important facilities as well as the bandits. If the objective meter barely changes after a large fight, stop searching for another enemy wave and check whether one of these buildings is still standing.
| Occupation target | What to look for | Best approach |
|---|---|---|
| Infirmary | Right side near the entrance, with white flags on the roof | Destroy it early with an area attack or Turning Slash |
| Timber Warehouse | Large occupied storage structure deeper in the quarry | Clear the nearby pack, then focus building damage |
| Barracks | Bandit-held facility within the main quarry area | Use movement and explosive barrels to break up defenders first |
These buildings are more than background scenery. They are part of the liberation checklist, and leaving one intact can keep the quarry from completing even after Marni’s Excavatron is down.
Marni’s Excavatron waits at the far back of Karin Quarry, beyond a large wooden gate. Reach the back section after working through the bandit buildings, then prepare for a boss fight built around positioning.
Stay out of the front of the machine. Approach for one short attack sequence, dodge away, then wait for the next opening. The safest pattern is to poke, disengage, and repeat instead of trying to stand close and trade damage through its attacks.
Marni’s Excavatron is the quarry’s major combat gate, but killing it does not guarantee the occupation meter will instantly hit zero. Treat the boss kill as the signal to begin your final cleanup sweep.
If Karin Quarry still shows occupation progress after the boss dies, there are usually remaining Bleed Bandits or an overlooked facility. Start at the wooden gate and work back toward the entrance, checking side alleys, ledges, and the spaces around the infirmary, warehouse, and barracks.
The entrance area is particularly worth revisiting. Small patrols can survive there while you are fighting deeper in the quarry, and they are easy to overlook once the larger battle has pulled you toward Excavatron.

Ultimate Guide Strategy Guide + Weekly Pro Tips
Once the quarry is liberated, the Stolen Quarry quest shifts from combat to the crane puzzle. The relic is a light gray cube buried in the middle of the ground beneath the crane. You need to raise it using the controls rather than searching for a hand interaction at ground level.
Center the claws carefully before lowering them. The crane objective can feel unclear because the relic is partially buried and the required interaction happens above it. If the grab fails, adjust the claw position over the gray cube rather than looking for another switch in the quarry.
Pulling up the relic opens access to a hidden area containing a Palmar Pill. Finish this interaction before returning to Hernand, since it is the quest’s key non-combat step and one of the quarry’s better hidden pickups.
Karin Quarry has worthwhile rewards beyond the liberation completion. Search the crane area and any treasure boxes revealed while moving through the quarry rather than leaving immediately after the boss fight.
The Gold Vein Map and Mining Knuckledrill make the location particularly useful for players following the mining-related side content, while the Palmar Pill is easy to miss if you only focus on the occupation meter and boss objective.
Check the infirmary, Timber Warehouse, and barracks first. Then sweep the entrance and side paths for surviving Bleed Bandits. A cleared boss arena with a remaining patrol elsewhere in the quarry can keep the occupation meter above zero.
Stop attacking from directly in front of the boss. Use short side attacks, dodge out, and reset your position. Fighting it near an obstruction reduces your escape space, so move into a clear part of the back area before committing to your attacks.
Return to the elevator and control room, then align the claws directly over the light gray cube under the crane. The relic is not meant to be collected manually from the quarry floor; the crane’s lower-and-raise interaction is required to expose the hidden reward area and advance the Stolen Quarry objective.
With the quarry liberated, the relic raised, and the hidden crane area searched, return to Hernand to continue the House Roberts quest line from the completed Stolen Quarry objective.
