Crimson Desert: How to Find and Capture Blix Alive

Crimson Desert: How to Find and Capture Blix Alive

FinalBoss·8/12/2026·7 min read

Hernand’s early bounty loop teaches an important Crimson Desert habit: the map gives you a general lead, while the real answer is hidden in the terrain and the in-game clock. Blix is a Hornsplitter-linked bounty target, found in a ravine below Unicorn Cliff during the morning. Travel to the cliff base, enter the back of the crevice near the merchant camp, subdue Blix alive, and deliver the captive to Hernand jail for the best reward route.

Who Blix Is in Crimson Desert

Blix is a wanted outlaw tied to Hernand’s bounty content, rather than a major story companion or a mandatory campaign boss. The encounter is built around the game’s non-lethal bounty mechanics: identify the target among their guards, take them down without killing them, put them on your horse, and complete the delivery.

The bounty is worth doing early because it combines several systems that return in later hunts: reading a wanted poster, tracking a timed spawn, locating a target beyond a misleading marker, managing nearby enemies, and transporting a prisoner. The reported payout can reach 15 silver, along with Hernand contribution progress.

Start the Blix Bounty Before Heading to Unicorn Cliff

Pick up the Blix wanted poster in the Hernand region before travelling. Posters are marked with a purple icon on the mini-map, and the active bounty will point you toward the general Unicorn Cliff area. The wording can suggest Windland Heights or the riverside cliffs, which is why players often waste time searching the plateau instead of the low ground.

  • Accept the Blix bounty poster in or around Hernand.
  • Check the in-game clock above the mini-map before setting out.
  • Travel southeast from Hernand toward Unicorn Cliff, south of the Nos River.
  • Search below the merchant camp and cliff edge, rather than staying on top of Unicorn Cliff.

Important: Treat the poster marker as a search zone. Blix’s camp is at the base of the cliffs, inside a narrow ravine or rock indentation.

Blix Location: The Ravine Below Unicorn Cliff

At Unicorn Cliff, move toward the merchant camp, then look down the cliffside for a visible gap in the rock. Descend into that ravine and continue toward the far back of the crevice. Blix appears there with several Hornsplitter guards, usually near a small fire or brazier.

The useful landmark is the cliff indent, not the open terrain around the map marker. If you can still see the merchant camp above you, keep descending and follow the rock walls until you reach the enclosed camp area. The target should have a red bounty indicator on the mini-map, making Blix easier to separate from the regular enemies once the camp has loaded correctly.

  • Go to Unicorn Cliff in the Hernand region.
  • Find the ravine or split in the cliff below the camp.
  • Enter the crevice instead of circling the upper ridge.
  • Check the deepest section of the camp for Blix and the Hornsplitter guards.

Blix Spawn Time: Arrive During the Morning

Blix is a morning-only target. Plan to reach the ravine from 7:00 AM through noon in-game; Blix can appear as early as 6:00 AM, but the target is gone after 1:00 PM. Starting the run before midday gives you room to clear the camp and reset the area if the spawn fails.

This timing rule is the main reason the bounty looks broken. Reaching the correct crevice late in the day leaves you with an empty camp or guards without the target. Check the clock before making the descent, especially if fast travel or another activity has moved the day forward.

How to Make Blix Appear if the Camp Is Empty

An empty ravine usually means the timing or area state needs a reset. Do not keep combing the surrounding cliffs for a second camp. Leave the immediate area, move time forward to the next morning, then reload the encounter space before returning to the same crevice.

  • Confirm that the time is before 1:00 PM.
  • Leave the ravine and wait at a bonfire, bed, or cooking pot.
  • Set out again during the morning period.
  • Fast travel away and back if Blix still does not load.
  • Reload the area, then return to the far back of the cliff crevice.

Resetting before noon is more efficient than waiting around the camp. The bounty relies on both the correct time window and the local spawn state, so a quick travel-and-return loop is usually the cleanest fix.

How to Capture Blix Alive

For the alive-capture route, clear Blix’s guards first, then put away your weapon and approach the target unarmed. When Blix is vulnerable, use the tackle prompt to knock them down and bind them. On Xbox controllers, the tackle input is A; on PlayStation 5, it is X when the prompt appears.

Blix is visually distinct from the guards: the bounty target is an unarmored green goblin with the red bounty marker. Keep that marker in view while removing the camp’s other enemies. Wide attacks, explosive damage, and repeated heavy hits become risky once the guards are down, since accidental kills remove the clean non-lethal finish.

  • Remove the Hornsplitter guards before attempting the capture.
  • Keep Blix alive while the camp is being cleared.
  • Stow your weapon and move in close.
  • Use the tackle prompt when it appears.
  • Bind Blix after the knockdown.

The narrow ravine helps here. Fight near the back of the crevice after the guards are gone, where Blix has less room to run and you have fewer enemies interrupting the tackle sequence.

Deliver Blix to Hernand Jail

Binding Blix does not finish the bounty. Load the prisoner onto your horse and follow the objective back to the jail or guard hand-in point in Hernand. The drop-off is on the town’s western side, and the bounty completes only after the physical delivery.

If Blix dies during the encounter, the bounty can still be resolved through the alternate turn-in route, but the result may differ from bringing the target in alive. Capture remains the better approach for players aiming to get the intended bounty reward and learn the system for later targets.

Common Blix Bounty Mistakes

  • Searching on top of Unicorn Cliff: Blix is at the bottom, inside the ravine below the merchant camp.
  • Arriving after 1:00 PM: The target despawns after the morning window ends.
  • Trusting the marker too literally: Follow the terrain into the cliff gap instead of stopping at the marked surface area.
  • Attacking Blix with the guards: Clear the camp first, then switch to an unarmed tackle.
  • Leaving after binding the target: Put Blix on your horse and complete the jail delivery to finish the bounty.
  • Assuming the quest has failed: Rest, fast travel, or reload the zone, then revisit the ravine during the morning.
