Let me be honest—if you’d told me at that glitched launch back in 2020 that I’d still be hyped for more Cyberpunk 2077 updates in 2024, I’d have called you cyberpsychotic. Yet here we are, as CD Projekt RED confirms Patch 2.3 and whispers circulate about new side-quest DLCs. Night City refuses to clock out.

Patch 2.3 Teased, Side-Quest DLC Rumors Abound

  • Patch 2.3 incoming: global community director Marcin Momot tweeted, “We’re not done yet! Stay tuned… Let the team cook!”
  • Behind-the-scenes lead: quest director Pawel Sasko says Patch 2.3 has been in secret development “for a while” under his watch.
  • DLC hints: a Virtuos Singapore dev’s LinkedIn lists “DLC side-quest content” for Cyberpunk 2077 starting April 2024.

After a disastrous launch, Cyberpunk 2077’s renaissance really kicked off with Phantom Liberty and Patch 2.1. But CDPR isn’t ready to call it quits. Patch 2.3 is expected to bundle quality-of-life tweaks, fan-requested features, and a few lore-driven surprises. With the Switch 2 port earning praise, the studio’s on a mission to polish Night City across all platforms.

Now, the DLC rumors have my Spidey sense tingling. If that LinkedIn entry translates to real content, we’re looking at fresh side quests—think tight story beats rather than a full-blown expansion. It’s post-launch support we haven’t seen since old-school RPG expansions. And in an era dominated by live-service churn, that’s a standout move.

Real talk: CDPR did overpromise at launch, and key staff are eyeing Project Orion (Cyberpunk 2). So don’t expect a new district or major systems overhaul. But a few hours of narrative DLC and meaningful QoL fixes could make a big difference—especially for those who felt the original ending fell flat.

Should You Return to Night City?

If you bailed early or never got around to finishing Phantom Liberty, now’s a solid excuse to boot up again. Patch 2.3 might tie loose ends, while side quests could fill narrative gaps and introduce mechanics that didn’t make the cut first time around. And even jaded vets have to admit: few AAA studios stick around this long after launch issues.

Bottom line: keep Night City on your radar. If CDPR delivers, Cyberpunk 2077’s comeback could set a new standard for redemption stories—and show the industry how to do post-launch right.
