Dagger Directive 1.0 Lands August 13, but Is Co-op Finally Ready?

Dagger Directive leaves Steam Early Access on August 13, 2026 with five new missions and weapons, while players must still test whether co-op desync is fully resolved.

A co-op mission can fall apart the moment one player sees a dead enemy standing up, or an objective completes for the host but not the squad. That is why Dagger Directive’s August 13 Version 1.0 launch matters more than a standard content update: it is the first finished-build checkpoint for players who left over blocking bugs and desynchronization.

The PC shooter has been in Steam Early Access since June 3, 2025, giving its developers more than a year to update the game before its full release. Version 1.0 is billed as its largest update and includes the Global Ops Expansion, a new campaign branch with five missions, fresh objectives and new enemy encounters. The arsenal is also expanding with the MK18, P90, M17 and M32 Grenade Launcher.

Those additions are also a tougher networking test than a quick replay of an older mission. New AI encounters, objective states and explosive weapons all require the host and clients to agree on what is happening. The launch material does not provide an itemized desync changelog, so it does not establish that every co-op failure has been eliminated. It does, however, make 1.0 the clearest point yet to judge the game as a complete product rather than a moving Early Access target.

Returning squads should not measure stability by a single successful drop-in. Start by checking party formation and mission loading, then watch whether every player shares the same spawn state, enemy behavior and objective progress. Run several missions in sequence, and test reloads, recoil and damage feedback with the new weapons; persistent sync problems often emerge after a session has been running for a while.

For Early Access owners, August 13 is the right time to reinstall and run a short multi-mission co-op test before committing to a long campaign night.
