Springtrap, The Witcher, and Lara Croft Join Dead by Daylight’s Star-Packed Update

Dead by Daylight just got even wilder. Behaviour Interactive’s legendary multiplayer horror title is pulling out all the stops for its latest update, inviting a horde of horror legends, gaming icons, and—yes—Matthew Lillard into the Fog. With new crossovers, skins, and original content on the horizon, there’s never been a better (or scarier) time to hunt—or be hunted.

Springtrap Joins the Fog

The long-rumored arrival is finally here: Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s shambles into Dead by Daylight as a playable killer, modeled and voiced by none other than Matthew Lillard. This marks the first time fans can step into Springtrap’s ominous suit in a video game, complete with Lillard’s signature performance and a chilling new look inspired by the recent FNAF movie.

Adding to the excitement, the Yellow Rabbit Legendary skin gives Springtrap a cinematic makeover, letting players embody the villain’s big-screen persona both in visuals and voice. “It’s the first time you get to step into Springtrap’s suit in a videogame,” game designer Jason Guzzo shared during the PAX anniversary stream.

The Witcher Arrives

The Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover is just the start. The Witcher series is set to enchant the Fog with six new skins. Highlights include:

  • Legendary transformations: The Artist becomes the Leshen, and Vittorio morphs into Geralt, complete with Doug Cockle reprising Geralt’s iconic voice.
  • Survivor makeovers for Ciri, Yennefer, Triss, and antagonist Eredin.
  • Themed banners, charms, and yes—Geralt’s bathtub makes a cameo as a cosmetic item.

Lara Croft & New Cosmetics

Lara Croft is back with a wardrobe refresh, including a tactical new outfit and the “Unified Lara” classic look. The Boulet Brothers, of Dragula fame, also crash the party with bespoke cosmetics—look out for Asia Consent’s Huntress design and a Boulet Bros.-styled Artist skin, both arriving July 8, 2025. Meanwhile, Frank Stone from The Casting of Frank Stone appears as a Legendary skin for The Trapper, instead of joining as a standalone killer.

Original Killers and Community Content

Not everything is a crossover—Behaviour Interactive is also spotlighting original content. The next killer draws inspiration from folklore, following the tradition of The Huntress and The Twins, promising new lore for those who crave fresh nightmares. On top of that, a community-chosen DLC is on deck, giving players a direct hand in shaping Dead by Daylight’s ever-evolving roster.

The Road Ahead

Dead by Daylight’s upcoming roadmap is a wild blend of nostalgia and innovation. Between pop culture crossovers, horror icons, and fresh original content, Behaviour Interactive ensures the Fog remains the most unpredictable—and stylish—corner of the multiplayer horror universe. The biggest question now: which legend will stalk the Fog next?

Dead by Daylight’s latest update is rolling out through 2024 and 2025 across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
