Why This v1.5.0 Tier List Actually Matters In-Game
After spending well over 100 hours in Endless Grades Pixel Saga, the v1.5.0 update with Gullveig forced me to completely rethink my roster. I’d sunk resources into “favorites” that felt great early… then fell flat in late-game dungeons and PvP. Once I started following a tier-list mindset and testing teams around Valkyrie, my account power jumped in a week more than it had in the previous month.
This guide is about turning that v1.5.0 hero ranking info into real decisions: who to build first, who to leave at low investment, and how to build a proper Valkyrie-centered end-game team, especially now that Gullveig has landed in S+ as a top DPS enabler.
Understanding Tiers vs. Real Power (S+ to D)
Before diving into specific heroes, it helps to translate what the tier labels actually mean in day-to-day play. Here’s how they’ve lined up with my experience in late-game content (Divine Tournament, hardest PvE stages, etc.).
S+ Tier – Heroes that are almost always worth building and slotting. They scale insanely well with investment and are meta-defining in multiple modes.
S Tier – Very strong, flexible picks that can easily form a core around S+ units or even carry teams if geared and supported correctly.
A Tier – Good, usable heroes. They can clear content and fill gaps, but you’ll usually replace them once you pull enough S+/S units.
B Tier – Situational or role-fillers. Okay early and mid-game, or in certain comps, but they struggle to keep up in brutal late-game fights.
C/D Tier – Mostly “do not invest” for end-game. Many SR/R heroes live here because their stats and skills just don’t scale well enough.
The key lesson I learned: it’s better to have a focused core of a few S+/S heroes at high investment than a wide spread of half-built A/B picks. Resources are the real gacha, especially promotion materials and high-tier gear.
The S+ Tier Core: Who You Build Around (Especially Gullveig)
After v1.5.0, the S+ tier isn’t just about raw damage; it’s about who still feels broken even when stages start one-shotting squishy units.
Gullveig – New S+ DPS Enabler with Thorns Synergy
I’ll start with Gullveig because she’s the reason many of us are here. After pulling and testing her, I get why she’s been bumped straight to S+:
Massive DPS amplification – She doesn’t just deal damage; she makes your whole team’s damage pop, especially around counter/Thorns setups.
Synergy with Valkyrie – Valkyrie naturally fits into bruiser and Thorns-style comps. Gullveig turns that into a real win condition by punishing enemies every time they touch your frontline.
Scales with investment – The more you push her skills and gear, the more she snowballs fights. She never “falls off” in my runs.
If you pull Gullveig, she instantly jumps to the top of your upgrade and gear priority list unless you are already heavily locked into another top-tier comp.
Other S+ Staples: The Late-Game Monsters
From my late-game runs, the following heroes consistently feel S+ in terms of reliability and scaling:
Screenshot from Endless Dungeon
Flora – Ridiculous scaling damage, especially in longer fights. Works amazingly in Thorns/reflect teams and as a main DPS in PvE.
Delia – One of the best supports for keeping your carries alive while still adding pressure. Great in both PvP and PvE.
Divine Justiciar · Natalie – Strong hybrid of sustain and control. Once her skills are maxed, she feels like cheating in some stages.
Herald of the Dead · Hermod – High-impact utility and damage; he makes teams feel “complete” by adding control and threat.
Tyr – My go-to frontline in difficult content. Taunts, shields, and survives nonsense that deletes other tanks.
Sophia – Excellent sustain and support over long fights; she keeps DPS online through unavoidable AoE damage.
Solo – Hard carry potential. In PvP in particular, a well-built Solo can decide games on their own.
If you have two or more of these alongside Valkyrie, you already have the skeleton of an end-game team. The rest of your roster just needs to support them.

Strong S Tier Picks: Who’s Worth Heavy Investment
While everyone drools over S+, you shouldn’t sleep on the broad S tier. These heroes might not warp the meta on their own, but they’re absolutely worth investing in if you’re missing an S+ option in that slot.
Devyn – Flexible damage dealer who shines once you get decent gear. Great filler DPS if you don’t have Flora/Solo yet.
Norn – Solid control and utility; great at making fights less chaotic. I used Norn heavily before I got better crowd control.
Yasha-Oh Gai – Burst and mobility that punish squishy backlines in PvP.
Verdant Sylph – Excellent consistent damage and some utility; pairs well with Flora or Gullveig for a relentless DPS core.
Thunderlord – Reliable burst and multi-target pressure.
Karasu – Assassin-style pick; great when you need to delete specific threats.
Sacred Heart · Eir – Sturdy support/healer with good uptime on sustain.
Isett, Knight of Dragons · Svea – Well-rounded damage and durability; good second-line heroes.
Evelyn, Lillian, Maeve – All strong enough to build if they fit your element/class needs, especially as secondary carries.
[Alchemy Master] Hermod – More niche than Herald of the Dead version, but can slot into interesting setups if you lack better support.
From a resource perspective, I treat most S tiers as “green light” for investment – as long as they solve a current hole in my team (tank, healer, control, AoE, etc.).
Building a Valkyrie-Centered End-Game Team (with and without Gullveig)
Every account has Valkyrie, so it makes sense that the meta naturally orbits her. When I stopped treating Valkyrie as “just my starter” and instead as the spine of my comp, my clears got way more consistent.
Core Principles for Valkyrie Teams
Valkyrie wants a durable frontline – Pair her with Tyr or another top-tier tank so she isn’t forced to carry survivability alone.
She scales with team-wide sustain – Healers like Sophia or Sacred Heart · Eir let Valkyrie and your DPS stay on the field long enough to shine.
She loves Thorns/reflect setups – This is where Gullveig and Flora come in. Every hit the enemy lands becomes more punishment.
Example End-Game Team with Gullveig
This is the comp I’ve had the most success with since pulling her:
Frontline: Tyr + Valkyrie
Main DPS: Gullveig
Secondary DPS/Thorns: Flora
Support: Sophia (or Delia if you need more utility)
Why it works:
Tyr and Valkyrie soak hits and keep aggro where you want it.
Gullveig and Flora convert enemy aggression into massive returns via Thorns and sustained damage.
Sophia keeps everyone healthy enough to extend fights, which this comp loves.
If you’re missing Flora or Sophia, plug in S-tier substitutes like Verdant Sylph (for DPS) or Sacred Heart · Eir/Delia (for sustain and support).
Solid Valkyrie Team Without Gullveig
If you don’t have Gullveig yet, don’t worry – I cleared a lot of late-game content with this style of comp:
Screenshot from Endless Dungeon
Frontline: Tyr + Valkyrie
Carries: Solo + Flora (or Devyn if you lack one of them)
Support: Delia or Sophia
The breakthrough here was accepting that Valkyrie is more of a durable bruiser than a pure carry. Let Solo/Flora/Devyn do the heavy lifting on damage while Valkyrie and Tyr hold the line.

Summon and Upgrade Priorities After v1.5.0
Now for the real resource decisions: who to chase with summons, and who to pour your hard-earned materials into.
1. Use Summon Codes and Premium Pulls on S+/S Targets
I made the mistake early on of “just pulling” whenever I had enough currency, without caring which banner was up. Post-v1.5.0, I only seriously spend when:
The banner has at least one of: Gullveig, Flora, Tyr, Solo, Divine Justiciar Natalie, Delia, Sophia, Herald of the Dead Hermod.
I’m close to a pity or guaranteed SSR and can reasonably expect a shot at one of these.
Also, make sure you’re redeeming all currently active summon codes before you spend premium currency. I usually:
Open Settings → Redeem Code (or whatever the current path is in your version).
Dump every active code I can find from official channels/community.
Then use the extra tickets and gems on S+/S banners only.
Think of it like this: every pull that isn’t pointing at a top-tier unit is competing with your future Gullveig/Flora/Tyr.
2. Upgrade Order for Your Roster
Once you have some good heroes, the next question is who gets priority in Heroes → Enhance, Ascend, and gear upgrades. This is the order that’s worked best for me:
Screenshot from Endless Dungeon
STEP 1 – Lock in your frontline: Tyr > Valkyrie > any other S/S+ tank. If your tanks crumble, nothing else matters.
STEP 2 – Push your main carry: Gullveig, Solo, Flora, or your best S-tier DPS. Max skills and core gear first.
STEP 3 – Solidify sustain: Sophia, Delia, Sacred Heart · Eir. Even great DPS fails if they can’t survive AoE waves.
STEP 4 – Invest in secondary DPS/control: Norn, Devyn, Verdant Sylph, Karasu, etc., to smooth out specific content.
Don’t make my mistake of spreading resources evenly “to keep everyone the same level”. A few overpowered units beat a balanced but mediocre squad every time.

What to Do with B, C, and D Tier Heroes
Not every hero can be meta, and that’s fine. Here’s how I handle lower-tier units without feeling like I wasted pulls.
B Tier – Use them as temporary fixes. If you need a tank or healer right now, it’s okay to take a B-tier hero up a bit. Just don’t over-invest once you get a better replacement.
C Tier – Mostly collection/early-game. I might level them just enough to clear progression bottlenecks, then stop.
D Tier (especially SR/R) – I keep them at minimal investment. If the kit looks fun, I’ll test them in casual content, but I don’t dump rare resources into them for end-game.
The important mindset shift is this: lower tiers aren’t “trash”; they’re just not long-term projects. Enjoy them early on, but be ready to bench them when your S+/S core comes together.
Watching the Meta: Gullveig and Future Patches
With how strong Gullveig feels in v1.5.0, it’s very possible she sees adjustments in future patches. I treat every big update like this:
Check balance notes for changes to S+ heroes, especially new ones like Gullveig.
Test key comps (e.g., Valkyrie + Tyr + Gullveig + Flora + Sophia) in end-game PvE and PvP to see if they still feel as dominant.
Hold some resources instead of instantly maxing every new hero, until I’ve seen how they perform in real fights.
As of v1.5.0 though, if you’re unsure where to put your time and resources, you’re safe leaning heavily into Valkyrie-based teams with S+/S heroes around her – especially Gullveig, Flora, Tyr, Solo, Sophia, Delia, and the other top picks covered above.
Wrapping Up: A Simple Priority Checklist
If you remember nothing else from this guide, use this quick checklist next time you log in:
Summons: Save pulls for banners featuring Gullveig, Flora, Tyr, Solo, Sophia, Delia, Divine Justiciar Natalie, or Herald of the Dead Hermod.
Upgrades: Tank (Tyr/Valkyrie) > Main carry (Gullveig/Solo/Flora) > Sustain (Sophia/Delia) > Extra DPS/control.
Team Core: Always build around Valkyrie plus at least one S+ DPS and one S+ tank/support.
Lower Tiers: Use B/A tiers as stepping stones, but don’t be afraid to bench them for S+/S units as your roster improves.
Endless Grades Pixel Saga is way more fun once your team stops feeling random and starts following a clear plan. If I could rebuild my account from scratch, I’d follow this S+/S-focused approach from day one — and with the v1.5.0 tier landscape, you can do exactly that.
