Back up your Early Access save folder before opening it in Enshrouded 1.0. Existing PC saves convert automatically when loaded, so restarting is optional. Keep your established world if retaining your base and progression matters most; start fresh if you want to experience the revised tutorial and opening progression.

Enshrouded 1.0 release times on PC and PS5
Keen Games launches Enshrouded 1.0 on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 3 p.m. UTC. That is 5 p.m. in Germany, rather than a midnight release. The regional times below refer to the same launch moment.
| Region | Local release time | Date |
|---|---|---|
| Germany, France and other CEST regions | 5 p.m. CEST | October 15 |
| United Kingdom | 4 p.m. BST | October 15 |
| US East Coast | 11 a.m. EDT | October 15 |
| US West Coast | 8 a.m. PDT | October 15 |
| Japan | Midnight JST | October 16 |
The PC version leaves Early Access, while PS5 receives its first release. Existing Early Access owners receive 1.0 as a free update. An Xbox version is planned for later.
How Early Access save conversion works
You can continue an existing PC character and world in 1.0. On first load, the game automatically converts the save into its new, more efficient format. Make a separate copy of the complete Early Access save folder beforehand, and keep that copy separate from the files the updated game uses.
Keeping your character does not preserve its allocated skill tree. Early Access saves have their skill trees reset when loaded in 1.0, so review and reassign your skills before returning to demanding combat. Check custom key bindings as well, since they may return to their defaults.
This conversion applies to existing PC saves used on PC. Do not treat it as a way to move your PC character or world to PS5.

Should you continue your save or start again?
Continue your established save if your base and accumulated progression are the priority. The full release does not require a restart, and keeping the world avoids rebuilding an established settlement simply to access 1.0.
Keen Games recommends a fresh start because the opening sequence and early progression have changed. That makes restarting worthwhile if you want to experience the redesigned introduction rather than return directly to an advanced character and an existing base.
Character and world data are separate. You can begin another world while retaining your character’s level, equipment and inventory. For progression from the beginning, use a fresh character as well as a fresh world; bringing an established character into a new world carries those advantages with you.
What Enshrouded 1.0 adds
The full release expands both endgame progression and building, alongside the revised opening. Returning players have several concrete additions to work toward:
- More exploration and story: concluding story content, a new biome and a complete new map.
- Two more Hollow Halls: new dungeons in the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin.
- Higher progression limits: the character level cap and gear cap both rise to 55, alongside a higher Flame level and a new crafting tier.
- More base and combat content: a new base survivor, additional decorations and more spells.
- Sparkworks: a logic system that adds creative tools for building your realm.
- Presentation and opening changes: improved graphics rendering and revisions to the early game.
For an established character, the level-55 character and gear caps provide further progression beyond the Early Access limits. For builders, Sparkworks and the additional base content are the more relevant additions when deciding whether to return to an existing settlement.

Co-op player limits: 16 on PC, eight on PS5
The multiplayer cap depends on the platform. PC supports worlds or dedicated servers for up to 16 players; PS5 supports up to eight online players.
| Platform | Maximum co-op players | Online requirement |
|---|---|---|
| PC | 16 | Players must join a PC world or server |
| PS5 | 8 | Active PlayStation Plus subscription |
If your group has nine to 16 players and wants everyone in the same session, use PC. The PC dedicated-server limit does not raise the PS5 cap or provide a way for console players to join.
Does Enshrouded 1.0 have PC-PS5 cross-play?
PC and PS5 cross-play is unavailable at launch. PC players cannot join PS5-hosted worlds, and PS5 players cannot join PC servers. Everyone in a launch-day group must use the same platform.
Keen Games is working toward cross-play, but there is no release date to plan around. Choose a shared platform for your group’s current sessions rather than buying different versions in expectation of playing together immediately.
For returning PC players, the practical route is to back up the Early Access save and continue unless the redesigned opening is the main draw. For a new co-op group, settle the platform first: that decision determines both who can join and whether your session has room for eight players or 16.
