Woodcutting is the headline feature, but Eterspire’s most consequential change may be the new rule for quest rewards: EXP now scales from the player’s character level rather than the quest’s original level. That gives older quest hubs practical value again for players who previously outleveled their rewards.
Version 81, titled “The Big Woodcutting Update!”, launched on September 1. The new lifeskill begins at level 15: speak with Leefa in the Deep Forest to start a quest chain about helping a character secure work at a sawmill. From there, woodcutting expands into a dedicated progression track with trees, tools, maps, characters, cosmetics, and rewards. Stonehollow Workshop has already said more woodcutting content is planned, so this is a foundation rather than a self-contained gathering detour.
The short checklist is straightforward: reach level 15, find Leefa in Deep Forest, complete the sawmill-job quest line, then use woodcutting as an additional route through Eterspire’s broader progression. Exact XP rates, tool tiers, gathering timers, drop tables, and costs have not been detailed, so players will need to discover the efficiency curve in-game.

Quest and enemy scaling changes the surrounding game as well. While an active quest or hunt is underway, monsters now scale roughly to the player’s level, keeping combat relevant for overleveled characters. Combined with character-level-based quest EXP, low-level and midgame content can remain worthwhile instead of becoming a purely completionist exercise.
The patch also moves players to new servers with significantly lower latency and includes fixes intended to solve the majority of disconnections. Those changes matter directly to progression: fewer interrupted hunts, gathering runs, and trips between quest locations means less lost time in a mobile MMORPG also available on Apple TV.

Watch for the next update’s promised additional woodcutting content, plus planned localization and Unity upgrades.
