All the passion, beauty & intensity of pro motorsport merging the most iconic cars & circuits with a new benchmark in handling performance.
gamescom 2024 marked a historic moment for Swiss developer GIANTS Software. Celebrated for its hyper-realistic Farming Simulator series, the studio took fans by surprise by expanding its booth and pairing the eagerly awaited Farming Simulator 25 (FS25) with a brand-new sim-racing prototype, Project Motor Racing. This dual unveiling underscored GIANTS’ ambition to deepen its agricultural roots while carving out space in the competitive virtual motorsport arena.
Stepping into the GIANTS booth felt like toggling between two completely different experiences. On one side, triple-monitor stations ran FS25 on the powerful Giants Engine 10. Attendees strapped into force-feedback steering wheels and authentic farm pedals to test groundbreaking ground deformation, dynamic weather shifts, and advanced lighting that bathes fields in golden-hour warmth. Following a developer panel, GIANTS confirmed FS25 runs exclusively on next-gen hardware—PC (Windows/macOS), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S—citing the engine’s demanding processing requirements.
Just meters away, motion-enabled racing rigs put visitors in the driver’s seat of Project Motor Racing’s open-wheel prototype. Engineers demoed an adaptive physics system that factors in tire wear, real-time traction changes, and adjustable downforce. A brief “Highlands Fishing” teaser also gave a nod to the studio’s lighter side, previewing a cast-and-catch minigame that hints at future spin-off possibilities.
Released on November 12, 2024, Farming Simulator 25 leverages Giants Engine 10 to deliver the series’ most immersive experience yet. The engine’s dynamic weather can shift from scorching sun to sudden thunderstorms overnight, reshaping soil moisture, crop schedules, and even road conditions. Ground deformation now shows every rut and wheel track, influencing vehicle handling and irrigation planning on the fly.

FS25 expands its world with three distinct biomes: the wide-open plains of North America, water-logged rice paddies of East Asia, and the wooded valleys of Central Europe. Each region features unique machinery, farming methods, and local markets. The addition of four new crops—rice, spinach, peas, and green beans—deepens crop-rotation strategies and opens fresh trade opportunities. A refined soil-compaction model tracks long-term yield effects, making equipment choice more strategic than ever.
Compared to Farming Simulator 22, FS25 places a sharper emphasis on resource optimization and strategic planning. Developers highlighted that the in-engine modding toolkit and integrated community marketplace have been overhauled to streamline custom content creation. Early reports from closed-beta participants praise the mod tools as the easiest yet, predicting a surge of user-generated vehicles, maps, and gameplay tweaks in the weeks following launch.

With Project Motor Racing, GIANTS Software makes its first serious push into sim-racing. Presented in collaboration with veteran track engineers, the prototype sprint circuit and open-wheel car showcased millimeter-perfect steering, adaptive aerodynamics, and real-time tire wear and temperature modeling. Although release platforms and dates remain unannounced, the motion rigs and immersive surround sound drew lengthy queues, signaling strong early interest.
During a Q&A session, developers hinted at future in-engine editing tools, suggesting that user-created circuits and cars could follow in the footsteps of mod-friendly titles like Assetto Corsa and rFactor. If realized, this approach would leverage the same passionate communities that have bolstered GIANTS’ farming titles.
By building both projects on Giants Engine 10, GIANTS Software encourages technological cross-pollination. Ground-deformation algorithms designed for agricultural fields could refine racing surface simulation, while the engine’s high-fidelity lighting might enhance foliage and shadow rendering on farm maps. In a developer presentation, GIANTS emphasized that shared advancements will boost visuals, performance, and feature depth across both series.

On the farming front, FS25 cements GIANTS’ leadership over rivals like Pure Farming and Real Farm with unmatched depth and a thriving mod ecosystem. On the racetrack, Project Motor Racing faces giants like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo. Its long-term success will hinge on sustained physics fidelity, diverse content, and robust community support tools—elements GIANTS seems determined to deliver.
Farming Simulator 25 is available now on PC (Windows/macOS), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, Project Motor Racing has no official release date, but the gamescom prototype has already generated palpable excitement. As GIANTS Software readies patches for FS25 and teases potential beta tests for its racing debut, fans of both agriculture and high-speed competition will have plenty to anticipate—whether they’re perfecting crop rotations or mastering hairpin turns.
