Updated 9 October 2026 for Gakuran’s 3 October 2026 update (“The Holy Grail Update”, v10.00).
Quick answer: Short characters (under about 5’8”) should run Boxing, with Muay Thai as the backup. Medium characters suit Wrestling, with Karate as the backup. Tall characters suit Capoeira, Hakari or Wrestling. That is PocketGamer’s advice from 7 July 2026, and it fits what height does in the game: taller means more health, damage and reach, but a bigger hitbox and slower attacks. No source publishes official height cut-offs per style. If your roll does not fit, reroll it with the codes below.

How Height Affects Your Stats
Height in Gakuran, the Roblox school-life fighting game set in Japan in 2007, is not cosmetic. Base health is 100 HP. Community trackers that mirror the developers’ public Trello board describe the trade-off like this:
| Stat | Short build | Tall build |
|---|---|---|
| Attack speed | Faster swings, shorter combo resets | Slower swings, longer combo resets |
| Damage per hit | Lower | Higher |
| Hitbox | Smaller, harder to hit | Larger, easier to hit |
| Health | Below 100 HP | Above 100 HP |
| Reach | Shorter | Longer |
The health gap is small at ordinary heights and only clearly shows at the extremes. Short builds also deal less damage per hit and have shorter reach, so they want fast, close-range styles. Tall builds give up speed for damage and reach.
Fighting Style Recommendations by Height
PocketGamer’s best fighting styles guide (7 July 2026) is the only major outlet we found that ties styles to height. It defines short as under 5’8” (about 173 cm; for reference, 6 ft is about 183 cm) and gives no range for medium or tall.
| Your height | Main pick | Backup | Why (PocketGamer) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Short (under 5’8”) | Boxing | Muay Thai | Fast punches match the extra speed of short builds |
| Medium | Wrestling | Karate | Balanced stats |
| Tall | Capoeira | Hakari, Wrestling | Capoeira uses the longer reach; Wrestling also works |
The same article’s tier list, written in July: S Boxing and Wrestling; A Muay Thai and Hakari; B Basic and Capoeira; C Slugger. It predates every style added since (see below).
Short Builds: Boxing or Muay Thai
Boxing is PocketGamer’s top pick for short characters, because its fast punches fit the extra speed and attack rate of a short build. Muay Thai is the alternative if you do not roll Boxing. Both suit aggressive, close-range play.
Medium Builds: Wrestling or Karate
Medium builds have balanced stats. PocketGamer rates Wrestling as one of the strongest styles at the moment and the best fit here. Karate is the backup and is also rated strong.
Tall Builds: Capoeira, Hakari or Wrestling
Tall builds get more health, damage and reach but are slower overall. PocketGamer’s strongest tall pick is Capoeira, because it makes full use of the longer reach. Hakari is also suggested, and Wrestling works at this height too.
New Fighting Styles Since July 2026
PocketGamer’s list covers eight styles: Basic, Boxing, Capoeira, Hakari, Karate, Muay Thai, Slugger and Wrestling. Community trackers that mirror the developers’ Trello update log show many more since then:
- July: Kure.
- August: Wing Chun, Striker, CQC, Kyokushin Karate and Kickboxing.
- September: Jin.
- 3 October (v10.00): Perfect Copy, Aikido, Taijutsu, Hikaken and Giovanna, plus a new “style awakening” for eight styles, including Boxing, Karate, Lethwei, Taijutsu, Jin, Hakari and Wrestling.
We found no height advice for these newer styles from any outlet that backs its claims. Some fan wikis do list heights for them (one puts Kure at medium, about 5’8” to 5’9”), but those wikis contradict each other and PocketGamer: one lists Capoeira as a short-build style, another as a tall-build style. Treat exact numbers as guesses, and check the Stats menu in game for the styles you can actually roll.
How to Reroll and Redeem Free Codes
If your height and style do not line up, you will need to reroll. Open the stats screen from the menu on the left. PCGamesN reports that almost any stat can be rerolled at the same cost, including race, height, fighting style and accessories, and that your height range depends on your character’s ethnicity.
Codes give you free rerolls. Before codes work, you need to join the Gakuran group on Roblox (IGN says you cannot load into the game without it), have at least five friends on Roblox, and play for about an hour. Then click the arrow on the left side of the screen, open the Codes tab, enter the code and press Redeem.
Working codes as of 7 to 8 October 2026 (IGN, PCGamesN and Pocket Tactics):
GAKURANCOMEBACK– 40 rerollsPITY– 20 rerollspityfixed– 20 rerolls9999rerolls– 1 reroll
QOL3 and FRESHLOOK are also listed, but outlets disagree on the reward (67 and 40 rerolls at Pocket Tactics, 15 each at PCGamesN). Enter codes exactly as written. GAKURAN and 15REROLLS have expired. New codes are posted in the codes channel of the game’s Discord. Codes can stop working without notice.
Each reroll is random, so decide on your target build before you start spinning and know exactly when to stop.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Building without a height goal: Do not put time into a style while hoping your next reroll fixes your height. Lock the height tier first, then match the style.
- Skipping the code requirements: Codes will not redeem until you have joined the Gakuran Roblox group, added five friends and played for about an hour.
- Wasting rerolls on cosmetics: Codes run out. Use rerolls to fix your build, not just your hair or outfit.
- Treating heights as hard rules: Nobody publishes official height cut-offs per style. Use short, medium and tall as a guide, not a lock.
Quick Build Reference
- Short (under 5’8”): Boxing (Muay Thai backup)
- Medium: Wrestling (Karate backup)
- Tall: Capoeira, Hakari or Wrestling
- Join the Gakuran group, add five friends, play for about an hour, redeem
GAKURANCOMEBACK,PITYandpityfixed, then reroll until your height matches your intended style.
