Genshin Impact Luna VIII Lands With a Fatui Harbinger and a Trip to the Moon

Genshin Impact’s Nod-Krai cycle ends with the July 1, 2026, global launch of Version 6.7, “Luna VIII: Sunny Summer Fontinalia,” closing the “Song of the Welkin Moon” arc while introducing a playable Fatui Harbinger, a permanent lunar region with low-gravity traversal, and the Stellar-Conduct Cryo-Electro reaction.

Sandrone enters the roster as a 5-star Cryo Claymore user and the first playable Fatui Harbinger in this update. She introduces Stellar-Conduct, a new elemental reaction exclusive to Cryo and Electro interactions. When triggered, Stellar-Conduct generates a Polestar Field that stockpiles surplus elemental energy and converts it into sustained combat buffs. These buffs increase Stellar-Conduct damage, raise party-wide Cryo and Electro output, and lower enemy Physical RES. The mechanic rewards tight elemental timing and reshapes team-building for freeze-electric lineups by giving Sandrone a distinct support-damage hybrid identity.

Exploration expands permanently to The Moon, a full-sized zone framed around lunar seas, space-station staging, and spacecraft travel. The Frost Moon area features ancient dragon ruins scattered across the lunar surface and employs low-gravity mechanics that alter traversal, climbing, and puzzle-solving. Unlike limited-time event maps, this region remains in the open world after the patch cycle ends, offering new resources and boss encounters tied to Sandrone’s ascent materials.

The Fontinalia Film Festival is woven directly into the main progression loop rather than sitting as an optional sidebar. Players complete the “Sunny Summer Fontinalia” quest chain to unlock festival rewards and advance the patch’s concluding narrative. Supplemental event content includes the Miliastra Wonderland activities, which provide additional currencies and cosmetic items for participants.

With Version 7.0 and the Snezhnaya region approaching, Luna VIII acts as the final proving ground for the current arc, giving players a narrow window to master Stellar-Conduct teams and clear the lunar content before Teyvat’s next major shift.
