Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition Turns a Story DLC Into a Bigger PS5 Package
Ghost of Tsushima’s Director’s Cut expanded its original release with a major new island; Ghost of Yōtei’s Complete Edition takes a broader approach. Its headline addition is a story episode, but the October update also introduces repeatable bounty runs and co-op, changing the game’s appeal for players who have already finished Atsu’s main quest.
Echoes of Sekigahara is the narrative centrepiece. The expansion moves between the present in Ezo and flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland. A figure from her past, Nagato, arrives in Ezo, while the present-day storyline opens a previously unseen valley once occupied by The Snake and his Vipers. The flashbacks revisit the Battle of Sekigahara and a decisive moment before Atsu returned home to pursue vengeance. New enemies, heavy weapons, armour sets and dyes are also part of the episode.
The larger shift is Most Wanted, a roguelike-style combat survival mode built around bounty-based runs. Players earn perks by defeating targets during a run and can unlock additional playable characters, each tied to one of the game’s main weapons. That structure gives Ghost of Yōtei a replayable systems-focused mode rather than simply another finite story chapter.

The Complete Edition also includes Ghost of Yōtei Legends online co-op, the original Digital Deluxe Edition extras, new Watanabe Mode music, Photo Mode stamps, New Game+ cosmetics and additional Trophies. Patch v2.0 adds quality-of-life changes too, including the ability to keep one armour set’s appearance while using another set’s stats. All existing owners receive the Beauty of Yōtei mode for free, which cycles through environmental scenes.
For newcomers, the $69.99 Complete Edition is the straightforward entry point. Existing owners can upgrade for $14.99 in the US or £11.99 in the UK, making it most compelling for players who want both Echoes of Sekigahara and the repeatable or multiplayer additions. Digital Deluxe owners may find the calculation less favourable because much of their existing bonus content is already included. The patch arrives October 1 in most regions, and October 2 in parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
