Grounded 2
Shrunk again, but the world is much larger. In this open-world, single-player or co-op survival adventure, craft weapons and armor, build your base, and traver…
Grounded 2 is poised to expand the backyard survival experience with more detailed environments, larger co-op encounters, and advanced base-building. When Obsidian Entertainment published the official system requirements, many fans were surprised to see the minimum RAM doubled from 8 GB to 16 GB. This increase, alongside higher GPU recommendations, indicates a significant technical leap for the sequel.
The jump to 16 GB of RAM is notable: players with 8 GB systems will be unable to launch the game, even at the lowest settings. This reflects the industry trend of survival titles that demand more memory for richer world simulations. On the GPU front, recommending an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT places Grounded 2 among titles that emphasize both high frame rates and visual fidelity.

While HDDs are still supported, anyone using non-SSD storage may experience longer load times and slower texture streaming. Given the 40 GB footprint, an SSD is highly advisable to maintain smooth gameplay, particularly in large co-op sessions where assets load dynamically.

Obsidian’s raised system requirements for Grounded 2 signal a commitment to deeper gameplay mechanics and enhanced visual complexity. Players who upgrade to meet the 16 GB RAM baseline and a modern GPU will be rewarded with richer environments, larger co-op encounters, and faster load speeds. As survival games continue to evolve, so too must our hardware choices.
