GTA 5 Cheats in 2026 – What Still Works (Short Answer)

After replaying GTA 5 in 2026 on PS5 and PC, I went back through every classic cheat to see what Rockstar might have quietly killed. The result: every Story Mode cheat still works on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC – but they only work in Story Mode, and they temporarily disable achievements/trophies for that session.

If you just want the essentials, these are the three I use constantly:

  • Invincibility (God Mode): 5 minutes of near-godhood – 1-999-724-654-5537 (phone) / PAINKILLER (PC console).
  • Max Health & Armor: instantly top up – 1-999-887-853 (phone) / TURTLE (PC).
  • All Weapons & Ammo: full arsenal, including explosives – 1-999-866-587 (phone) / TOOLUP (PC).

Below is the in-depth breakdown I wish I’d had: exact PS5/PS4 and Xbox button inputs, phone numbers, and PC console commands, plus how I actually chain them together without soft-locking missions or ruining saves.

How to Enter Cheats on PS5, Xbox, and PC

This part confused me on my first PS5 replay because GTA 5 never really teaches it. There are three ways to activate cheats, and they all still work in 2026:

  • Button sequences (PS5/PS4/Xbox): Enter the combo quickly during normal gameplay (no pause menu). If you do it right, you’ll see a confirmation in the top-left.
  • In-game phone (all platforms): Press Up on the D-pad → open Contacts → press the dial button (Square on PS, X on Xbox, click on PC) → type the number like a real phone. This is the easiest method on console.
  • PC console commands: On PC, press ~ (tilde) to open the console, then type the word code (e.g. PAINKILLER, TURTLE) and hit Enter.

Once any cheat is active, trophies/achievements are disabled until you reload a clean save or restart the game. I keep one “legit” save slot and one “cheat sandbox” slot so I never accidentally lock myself out of progress.

Core Survival Cheats (Health, Armor, and Invincibility)

Invincibility (God Mode)

This is the one I abuse the most when I just want chaos without instant deaths. It lasts 5 real-time minutes; you can reactivate it as soon as it expires.

  • Phone (all platforms): 1-999-724-654-5537 (PAINKILLER)
  • PC console: PAINKILLER
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: RIGHT, X, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, R1, RIGHT, LEFT, X, TRIANGLE
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: RIGHT, A, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, RB, RIGHT, LEFT, A, Y

What I learned the hard way: invincibility doesn’t stop mission failures. You can still fail from leaving an area, destroying key vehicles, or letting NPCs die. In tough shootouts, I always pop this right after the first wave of enemies, not mid-cutscene, so the timer covers the actual combat.

Max Health and Armor

This is my go-to instead of God Mode when I still want some tension. It fully restores health and armor but doesn’t make you invincible.

  • Phone (all platforms): 1-999-887-853 (TURTLE)
  • PC console: TURTLE
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: CIRCLE, L1, TRIANGLE, R2, X, SQUARE, CIRCLE, RIGHT, SQUARE, L1, L1, L1
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: B, LB, Y, RT, A, X, B, RIGHT, X, LB, LB, LB

Don’t make my early mistake of spamming this during multi-part missions. If you rely on it every few seconds, it’s a sign you’re under-geared or being too aggressive. I found it much smoother to trigger this between firefight phases when the game gives you a breather.

Recharge Special Ability

This refills Franklin’s driving focus, Michael’s bullet time, or Trevor’s rage meter instantly. For precision driving challenges and heists, it’s stronger than it looks.

  • Phone: 1-999-769-3787 (POWERUP)
  • PC console: POWERUP
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: X, X, SQUARE, R1, L1, X, RIGHT, LEFT, X
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: A, A, X, RB, LB, A, RIGHT, LEFT, A

On my latest run I basically turned Franklin into a railgun on wheels by pairing this with vehicle spawns and invincibility during high-speed chases.

Weapons and Wanted Level Cheats

All Weapons and Full Ammo

This instantly gives your character a full weapon loadout (including explosives) and tops up ammo. It’s perfect for jumping into chaos on a fresh save.

  • Phone: 1-999-866-587 (TOOLUP)
  • PC console: TOOLUP
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: TRIANGLE, R2, LEFT, L1, X, RIGHT, TRIANGLE, DOWN, SQUARE, L1, L1, L1
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: Y, RT, LEFT, LB, A, RIGHT, Y, DOWN, X, LB, LB, LB

I usually activate this once at the start of a “sandbox” play session, then rely on pickups later. Spamming it mid-mission can mess with pacing and make some set-pieces trivial.

Raise Wanted Level

When I want instant chaos without slowly building suspicion, this is the fastest way to spawn higher-level police response.

  • Phone: 1-999-3844-8483 (FUGITIVE)
  • PC console: FUGITIVE
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: R1, R1, CIRCLE, R2, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: RB, RB, B, RT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT

Lower Wanted Level

If you’re just testing vehicles or movement cheats, being constantly harassed by cops is annoying. I use this to clear the heat without losing my toys.

  • Phone: 1-999-5299-3787 (LAWYERUP)
  • PC console: LAWYERUP
  • PS5 / PS4 buttons: R1, R1, CIRCLE, R2, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT
  • Xbox Series / One buttons: RB, RB, B, RT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT

One thing I learned: lowering your wanted level doesn’t reset damage to vehicles or NPCs. If you want a “clean slate” for stunts, combine this with a fresh vehicle spawn.

Movement, Physics, and Fun Cheats

Super Jump

Super Jump is still my favorite for exploring rooftops and doing ridiculous parkour without vehicles.

  • Phone: 1-999-467-8648 (HOPTOIT)
  • PC console: HOPTOIT

On controller, you still need to hold the jump button (X on PS, A on Xbox) for the full boosted jump. I wasted a few minutes thinking it was broken until I remembered that detail from the original release.

Fast Run and Fast Swim

These are great for collecting hidden packages or just sprinting around without a vehicle.

  • Fast Run – Phone: 1-999-228-2463 (CATCHME) – PC console: CATCHME
  • Fast Swim – Phone: 1-999-468-44557 (GOTGILLS) – PC console: GOTGILLS

On my recent PC run I combined Fast Run + Super Jump + Moon Gravity to turn the map into a low-gravity obstacle course. It makes basic exploration feel totally different.

Moon Gravity and Drunk Mode

These are pure sandbox toys; I never use them in serious missions, but they’re fantastic for messing around.

  • Moon Gravity – Phone: 1-999-356-2837 (FLOATER) – PC console: FLOATER
  • Drunk Mode – Phone: 1-999-547-861 (often listed as CIRCUS) – PC console: commonly LIQUOR in English builds

Be aware: physics and handling get extremely unpredictable with these active. I only toggle them on when I’m done with serious progress for the session, because they can make regular driving and shooting much harder.

Vehicle Spawn Cheats Still Working in 2026

For my 2026 runs, vehicle cheats were the biggest time-saver. Instead of driving halfway across the map to “properly” grab a chopper, I just spawned what I needed on the spot. All of these worked on PS5, Series X, and PC via the in-game phone.

Buzzard Attack Helicopter

My default choice for free-roam chaos and fast travel with rockets.

  • Phone: 1-999-289-9633 (BUZZOFF)
  • PC console: BUZZOFF

Spawn it in an open area; I’ve had it clip into traffic or street furniture when I tried this in tight alleys.

Comet (Sports Car)

Great handling and speed for stunt runs and freeway races.

  • Phone: 1-999-266-38 (COMET)
  • PC console: COMET

PCJ-600 Motorcycle

My choice for stunt jumps and weaving through traffic.

  • Phone: 1-999-762-538 (PCJ)
  • PC console: ROCKET is used for another bike in some builds, but PCJ via phone is the most reliable method.

Duke O’Death

This armored muscle car is perfect when you want carnage without instantly exploding to gunfire and traffic.

  • Phone: 1-999-332-8453 (DEATHCAR)
  • PC console: DEATHCAR

On my latest save I used the Duke O’Death plus invincibility to bulldoze through roadblocks and still keep missions stable. Just remember that some special vehicles have unlock requirements in a fresh story; cheats won’t bypass those early-game flags, but once they’re available, the spawns work reliably.

Staying Safe: Story Mode Only, No “Money Glitch” Nonsense

One important thing I confirmed in 2026: all of these cheats are intended only for Story Mode and single-player free roam. They do not work in GTA Online, and trying to replicate “money glitches” or mod-style cheats online is exactly how players end up with suspensions or bans.

My personal setup now looks like this:

  • Keep one clean, no-cheat save for achievements.
  • Keep a second “sandbox” save where I freely use PAINKILLER, TURTLE, TOOLUP, and vehicle spawns.
  • Only use phone/console cheats in Story Mode; never in GTA Online sessions.

Used that way, GTA 5’s cheats in 2026 are exactly what they were back in 2013: a built-in playground that still works perfectly on modern hardware, whether you’re on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or PC.
