This is not a retelling of Ryu Fujisaki’s HOSHiN ENGi. The game begins beyond the manga’s ending, putting players in control of Toshin, a new young disciple created by Fujisaki, while returning figures including Taikobo, Supushan, Yozen, Nataku, and Koh Tenka remain part of the wider adventure.
Its core is a run-based hack-and-slash structure: dungeon layouts shift between attempts, with branching routes and paths between islands forcing route choices rather than sending players through a fixed campaign. Materials recovered during those runs feed back into a base, where Toshin, allied heroes, and equipment can receive permanent upgrades. That should give failed attempts a lasting purpose, while keeping each new descent dependent on the tools found and choices made during that run.
The key build system is Paope, mythic treasures used as combat gear. A Main Paope anchors Toshin’s offensive options, while Sub Paope modify the flow of battle; upgrading them can unlock evolved attacks. Secret Arts are also learned randomly during runs, making adaptation more important than relying on one preset loadout. The announcement has not detailed Paope rarity, exact stat effects, or their full unlock rules, but the structure points to a game where build drafting is central rather than secondary.

Chuchue Doji adds another tactical layer. On foot, the spirit beast independently protects Toshin and interferes with enemies. Mounted, it enables aerial movement and riding attacks aimed at enemy blind spots. Character relationships matter outside direct combat too: bonding can unlock battlefield support, while sparring offers rewards.
Shueisha Games and LASTWONDER revealed the project during the September 9, 2026 Nintendo Direct. It is planned for a worldwide 2027 launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, with English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese listed. Price, a precise release date, PC requirements, and final regional ratings remain unannounced.

For now, the practical takeaway is simple: expect a solo action roguelite built around repeatable dungeon runs and flexible treasure combinations, not a linear manga adaptation.
