Elden Ring is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2022, developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco. With its vast open world, complex combat system, and intricate story, Elden Ring is sure to provide a challenging and rewarding experience for players.

However, with so much to discover and conquer, it can be overwhelming for new players to know where to begin. This is especially the case when it comes to leveling.

So, I’ll take you on a quick journey and show you how to level up in Elden Ring.

How To Level Up in Elden Ring – Quick and Simple Guide

In order to level up in Elden Ring, you must find Melina and accept her offer of becoming your maiden. But, you first need to find the Site of Grace and unlock a really interesting cutscene

So, let’s break it down into steps and see exactly what you need to do.

Start in Limgrave and Go Right

Once you complete the tutorial, you’ll find yourself in a place called Limgrave. This is actually not so friendly place and you’ll meet a lot of enemies here. But, the goal is to start traveling right all the way to Agheel Lake North.

Of course, you will need to be cautious and mindful of your surroundings. Always remember to keep an eye out for hidden paths and areas that might lead to valuable loot, and be prepared for unexpected encounters with enemies.

Look out for a Specific Camp

On your travels, you’ll meet a lot of enemies with potentially good loot, but I advise you to leave all that behind until you learn how to level up. Keep moving in the right direction as we described above until you find a specific camp filled with enemies.

Now, the goal is not to storm the front and kill all the enemies. Again, there’s a good reason to do that later.

Locate the Site of Grace

Once you locate the camp, it’s crucial to find the exact location of the Site of Grace. To do so, follow these steps:

  • Stand on a hill near the camp
  • Look at the right-hand side of the camp.
  • You will find a tiny light near the yellow tree.
  • Completely avoid the camp and go directly to the light.
  • Once you reach the Site of Grace, rest there.

Trigger a Cutscene

After successfully finding the Site of Grace, you will have to trigger it in order for a cutscene to take place. Simply walk into the site and you’ll see a big notification on your screen saying ‘’LOST GRACE DISCOVERED’’.

Now, sit back and enjoy the cutscene with Melina.

Accept the Dialog Option

Right after the cutscene is over, there will be an option displayed on the screen. You can either choose to Accept or Refuse the offer Melina is proposing. So, if you want to level up in Elden Ring, accept the offer.

Leveling Up Faster – Tips for Beginners

With the ability to level up your character, you will need to learn how to farm runes to level up faster. Here are a couple of tips to help you out:

  1. You get runes by defeating enemies, so choose the ones that are easy to fight against.
  2. Don’t hesitate to fight the same enemies over and over again if they’re not hard to kill.
  3. Start by defeating the enemies in the camp near the Site of Grace.
  4. Don’t worry if you die, your runes will not be lost. All you need to do is to come back to the place you died and collect them again.
  5. Use mount to travel faster and spend more time collecting runes.

Check Your Progress

The best part of leveling up is to always stay on top of the progress you’re making. To check this, simply press ‘’Start’’ and then choose the ‘’Status’’ option.
