Madden NFL 24: How to Prepare for the PS5 and PS4 Server Shutdown

Madden Points purchases end on October 26, 2026. Points already in your account remain spendable until April 26, 2027, giving existing balances a six-month spending window after purchases stop. For trophy completion, prioritize unfinished server-dependent requirements before the April shutdown.

The two deadlines affect different parts of the game

• October 26, 2026: You can no longer purchase additional Madden Points. Existing Points remain usable, and this cutoff does not end online play.
• April 26, 2027: EA shuts down Madden NFL 24’s online services on PS5 and PS4. Online-dependent trophies, Madden Ultimate Team and other server-connected features become inaccessible.

Plan to finish online requirements and spend your balance before April 26. Treat that date as the service cutoff, rather than a final day on which you can safely schedule unfinished objectives.

Which trophies are affected?

Trophies requiring online multiplayer, online features or server-connected progression become unobtainable after the shutdown. Trophies already earned remain earned. Purely offline trophies remain obtainable where their requirements do not depend on EA’s services.

Review your remaining trophy requirements by their connection dependency. Complete matchmaking objectives and progression that requires EA account connectivity first; leave requirements achievable entirely through local play until afterward. A mode being single-player does not guarantee that its progression works offline.

The platinum consequence depends on what you have already completed. If an unfinished trophy requires a service that closes on April 26, 2027, that requirement will block your platinum attempt afterward. Completing those trophies before the closure preserves the ability to finish the remaining offline requirements later.

What happens to your Madden Points?

The October cutoff ends new purchases without removing the spending window for Points already held. Existing Points can be used until the servers close, but their use depends on Madden NFL 24’s online infrastructure.

Check your current balance before purchasing more during the remaining purchase period. Limit any additional purchase to an amount you intend to spend before April 26, 2027. The shutdown does not leave an offline Ultimate Team mode in which to use a remaining balance.

What remains playable offline?

Installed copies retain locally supported modes and content. The important distinction is where a mode stores its data and whether it needs EA’s servers to run.

For Superstar and other single-player content, only an offline experience supported by your version remains usable. Do not assume that playing alone removes a mode’s connection requirement.

Preserve local access to your copy and saves

Madden NFL 24 has already been delisted from the PlayStation Store. Digital owners should download and install their existing copy before relying on it for post-shutdown offline play. Delisting affects the route to buying the game; the server closure affects its connected features.

Save locally usable rosters, playbooks and offline Franchise data on the console. For a Franchise you intend to continue beyond April 2027, use an offline save. Keeping the game installed does not preserve access to an online Franchise or its server-dependent progression.
