Mario Tennis Fever v1.1.0 Changes the Court—and Online Friend Matches

Mario Tennis Fever’s free Version 1.1.0 update adds the Super Mario Galaxy-inspired Galaxy Court, Black Hole Racket, and GameShare support through GameChat.

A low drive that normally skims past an opponent can become a second chance on Galaxy Court. Mario Tennis Fever’s new Super Mario Galaxy-themed stage gives rallies a floatier rhythm: balls travel higher and land deeper, buying defenders recovery time while making direct, low-trajectory offense less reliable.

That is the practical consequence of Version 1.1.0’s biggest gameplay addition. Galaxy Court is not just a cosmetic stopover on a distant planet. Lobs hang longer and may be intercepted before they clear a rival; overhead timing also needs adjusting. Meanwhile, shots that would die quickly on a Hard or Grass court can bounce into a playable height. Players used to the snappy pace of Academy or Stadium courts will need to build points more patiently.

The update also adds Galaxy Court Match, with the court’s shape changing according to whether players choose Free Play, Ranked Match, or Special Match. That gives the new stage a larger role than a one-off themed arena and makes its altered ball behavior relevant to competitive play.

Version 1.1.0’s new Fever Racket, the Black Hole Racket, pushes the game further toward arcade disruption. When its Fever Shot hits the ground, it creates a black hole that pulls in nearby players, damages an opponent’s HP Gauge at close range, and can absorb a knocked-out player. It does not pull incoming tennis balls, so it is a positional weapon rather than an automatic return tool.

For multiplayer groups, GameShare now works in online friend matches through GameChat, allowing friends without their own copy to join. GameChat requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, so the feature removes the game-ownership barrier but not the subscription requirement. The patch also adds five Luma colors, Mario’s classic outfit for collecting five medals, plus balance changes and gameplay adjustments.
