Switch 2 is not receiving a delayed conversion or a separate release window: it is part of TWI-LUMINA’s simultaneous April 22, 2027 launch across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. That gives French-Bread’s next Melty Blood a notably broad console footprint from day one, though platform-specific Switch 2 enhancements have not been detailed.
The newly released trailer puts White Len at the center of the announcement. Her character visual was illustrated by Takashi Takeuchi, while combat footage also spotlights Len, Shiki Tohno, Arcueid, and Ciel. The lineup shown is a trailer selection rather than a confirmed full launch roster, so players should not treat it as the complete character count.

New story mode and two control approaches
TWI-LUMINA is positioned as an updated follow-up to 2021’s Melty Blood: Type Lumina, which had passed 500,000 sales by June 2024. Its largest newly described addition is Grand Scenario Mode, an all-new story-related mode written by Tsukihime creator Kinoko Nasu. Details on its structure, length, and story content remain undisclosed.
In matches, players can select Act or Duel control styles. Duel retains the series’ traditional command inputs, while Act is designed for more immediate play, using one-button special moves and single-tap dashing. That split aims to preserve the technical fighting-game foundation without making newcomers learn every motion input before they can play effectively.

Aniplex, TYPE-MOON, and French-Bread will put the game in players’ hands before release at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running September 17-21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. That showing should clarify how White Len plays, whether the trailer roster expands, and how Act and Duel differ in live competition.
