Hardpoint is the important exception. Infinity Ward’s August 25 unplanned beta update applies its first spawn improvements across the rest of Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer, but leaves the objective mode on its previous logic while dedicated changes are prepared for the second beta weekend.
That split matters because spawn systems cannot be judged as one universal setting. General modes should now show more consistent placement and more stable spawn logic, following the studio’s early testing of match data across maps and playlists. Hardpoint creates a different problem set: the moving objective changes which areas teams must control, so its spawns require separate tuning rather than being folded into the broad pass.

Infinity Ward has described the live update as an early piece of a larger spawn-improvement effort, not a final correction. Its beta notes say spawn placements and logic remain under refinement across all maps and modes as the game approaches launch. The immediate patch therefore addresses feedback without claiming that every bad respawn pattern has been removed.

Hardpoint players, particularly on Transit 213, should treat their matches as the remaining pressure point. The studio has identified that map-mode combination for further attention, while other beta-side fixes — including inaccurate kill cams, Gunny notifications, and countdown trimming — are also queued separately. Joe Cecot acknowledged player concerns around spawns and rapid time-to-kill, and said the studio intends to respond more quickly than it did during Modern Warfare 2’s 2022 cycle.

Weekend 2 begins Friday, August 28 at 10 a.m. PT. The practical test is simple: assess non-Hardpoint respawns under the new pass, keep Hardpoint feedback distinct, and flag Transit 213 issues separately until the mode-specific update arrives.
