Monster Hunter Wilds Hits Switch 2 in December, but Ascendance Has a Catch

Switch 2 hunters will begin with the complete current Wilds package rather than an outdated port. The December 4 release includes every Title Update already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, giving Nintendo players the same established base-game content before the next major expansion cycle begins.

Seikrets return as the core traversal tool: they can lead hunters to marked destinations, let riders sharpen weapons or gather materials while moving, and allow a swap to a secondary weapon without returning to base.

Digital pre-orders open October 19. The Standard Edition costs $39.99, with an early pre-order price of $29.99 running through December 3. A $79.99 Gold Edition adds cosmetic DLC, while a physical Deluxe Edition is listed at $39.99 with the base game and Deluxe Pack cosmetics. A Prologue demo is also planned, though its content, download timing, and regional availability have not been detailed.

Ascendance is the unresolved part of the plan

Capcom has set Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance as a paid, major expansion for 2027. That makes the Switch 2 launch a practical starting point for players who want to clear the Forbidden Lands campaign and build toward Master Rank content. that said, the announced Ascendance platform list currently names PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam; a Switch 2 version has not been confirmed, nor have a release date or price.
