Persona 4 Revival’s Switch 2 Date Creates a Three-Month Wait

Persona 4 Revival launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 18, 2027, followed by Nintendo Switch 2 on May 20.

Switch 2 owners face a 91-day gap if they want Persona 4 Revival on Nintendo hardware: Atlus has set May 20, 2027 for that version, while PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC receive the remake on February 18. It is a staggered launch, not a platform-exclusive release, and there is no confirmed breakdown yet of Switch 2-specific performance, pricing, or features.

The remake returns players to rural Inaba, where the protagonist and friends form the Investigation Team after a murder coincides with sightings of the Midnight Channel, a strange television broadcast that appears on rainy nights. The group investigates the case while fighting Shadows in turn-based battles, building Social Links, and pursuing the mystery behind the deaths.

Atlus is framing Revival as a full remake of the PlayStation 2 RPG rather than another port of Persona 4 Golden. Confirmed upgrades include enhanced visuals, modernized gameplay and quality-of-life changes, fully voiced Social Links, re-recorded voice work, new songs, and remixed music by Ryota Kozuka.

The announced combat additions are more substantial than cosmetic changes. Baton Pass, the party-turn handoff system used in later Persona games, returns here. Revival also introduces Prime Time: when activated, it reduces skill costs to zero, with Prime Time Finish delivering a high-damage conclusion. Players can inflict status ailments on Shadows and knock affected enemies into nearby foes to spread those conditions, alongside returning mechanics such as All-Out Attacks.

Xbox and Windows players can access the game through Game Pass at launch, and compatible Microsoft versions support Xbox Play Anywhere. Japanese pricing announced so far ranges from 9,900 yen for the Standard Edition to 18,480 yen for the LIMITED BOX; pricing for other regions, including Switch 2, remains unannounced.

Atlus also confirmed Persona 6 for Switch 2, but has provided no release date for that game. For buyers planning around Revival, the practical choice is simple: wait for May 20 for Switch 2 portability, or choose PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC for the February 18 launch.
