Pikmin 3 Deluxe 1.2.0 Makes Bingo Battle a Switch 2 Feature Test

Pikmin 3 Deluxe version 1.2.0 adds sharper Switch 2 visuals and GameShare-enabled Bingo Battle through local play or GameChat.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a Switch reworking of the 2013 Wii U game, but version 1.2.0 is not a content expansion or broad performance overhaul. Its purpose is narrower: use Switch 2 display hardware more effectively and make the competitive Bingo Battle mode easier to run across separate systems.

The visual portion applies specifically to Nintendo Switch 2. The update optimizes the game for the Switch 2 screen in handheld play and for high-resolution TVs when docked, producing a sharper image in both cases. Nintendo has not specified resolution targets, frame-rate changes, loading improvements, or other technical metrics. The original Nintendo Switch version receives no equivalent visual changes under this update.

The more functional addition is GameShare support for two-player Bingo Battle. From the title screen, players can open Bingo Battle and select either “Play with people nearby” for local play or “Play via GameChat” for an internet session. A Switch 2 owner with the supported game hosts the share session; the second player joins the hosted game rather than needing their own copy for that session.

The platform split matters. Local wireless GameShare can pair a Switch 2 host with either a Switch 2 or original Switch guest. Online GameShare is Switch 2-only for every participant, and the host and guest must be in the same GameChat room. GameChat also requires Nintendo Switch Online and a persistent internet connection. A Switch 2 Camera is optional unless players want video chat, while child accounts need parental approval for GameChat access.

Shared access ends when the GameChat session ends, so this is a session-based multiplayer tool rather than a permanent game transfer. Players updating to version 1.2.0 should verify their hardware path before arranging Bingo Battle: original Switch systems work as local guests, but not as remote GameShare participants.
