For early progression, freeing or befriending Onix is the most direct way to add Bulldoze to your available specialties.

Bulldoze does not work like the mainline Pokémon battle move with the same name. You will not select it during combat. It is assigned to a Bulldoze-capable Pokémon when you start the relevant construction, demolition, or relocation job at a Pokémon Center computer and its connected build tools.

What Bulldoze Clears in Pokémon Pokopia

Bulldoze is for soft environmental blockers and construction work. It is the specialty to check whenever an objective involves changing the shape of an area instead of defeating something or gathering an item.

• Loose dirt and debris piles blocking usable ground.
• Collapsed sand and shoreline clutter.
• Weak barricades and other soft route blockers.
• Unwanted buildings or placed structures that need to be removed.
• Pokémon Center rebuilding, relocation, and renovation tasks.
• Making room for a new build or clearing an objective area.

Solid rock and rigid obstacles are a common trap. Bulldoze will not replace every route-gating tool. If the blocker looks like hard stone or a more permanent barrier, check whether the route requires another specialty instead of repeatedly reopening the demolition menu.

How to Use the Bulldoze Specialty

When you reach a cleanup or construction objective, approach it through the Pokémon Center computer or the relevant building interface. Select the project that involves demolition, rebuilding, or moving a structure, then assign a Pokémon with Bulldoze as the specialist leader. The game treats Bulldoze as a work role, so having the right Pokémon available matters more than carrying a battle move.

2. Choose the available demolition, relocation, or rebuilding task.
3. Assign a Pokémon with the Bulldoze specialty as the project leader.
4. Confirm the task to clear the eligible debris, remove the structure, or reshape the required space.

If the job does not appear, inspect the objective wording. “Demolish,” “relocate,” “rebuild,” and “clear space” point toward Bulldoze. A request to break through a hard obstacle usually points elsewhere.

How to Get Onix, Your First Bulldoze Pokémon

Onix is the key early Bulldoze unlock. Its rescue is tied to the “Yawn Up A Storm” objective chain, making it much more useful than an optional collection detour if you are trying to advance construction and cleanup tasks efficiently.

1. Progress the story until the Onix-related part of the “Yawn Up A Storm” objective becomes available.
2. From the Pokémon Center area, head down through the valley toward the cave route.
3. Bring access to Rock Smash, which is needed to reach the hidden cave section.
4. Free or befriend Onix inside the cave.
5. Return to the relevant construction task with Onix available to use Bulldoze.

Rock Smash is important for reaching Onix, but it serves a different purpose from Bulldoze. Keep that distinction in mind when a route has both a hard wall and a cleanup task nearby.

Where to Use Bulldoze at Bleak Beach

Bleak Beach is one of the clearest places where Bulldoze becomes progression-critical. The area’s blocked spaces tend to involve shoreline debris, collapsed sand, weak barriers, and cleanup jobs that need open ground before the next route or building objective can continue.

If you are stuck there, check for an available Bulldoze project before searching for a combat solution. The usual sequence is to clear the soft blocker, create usable space, then continue the route or rebuild the structure connected to the area objective.

The currently documented Bulldoze group contains 14 Pokémon. Onix is the early practical choice, while the rest give you more options as you expand the Pokémon living in your settlement and the biomes you can work in.

• You are looking in battle menus: Bulldoze is assigned through construction and specialization work, not combat.
• You have not rescued Onix yet: Complete the Onix route during “Yawn Up A Storm,” including the Rock Smash cave access.
• The obstacle is too hard: Loose debris, sand, and weak barricades fit Bulldoze; solid stone routes require a different solution.
• The task is a build job: Open the Pokémon Center computer or construction tools and look for demolition, relocation, or rebuilding options instead of interacting with the blocker as if it were a normal field object.
