PS Plus Essential’s August Lineup Has One Clear Day-One Priority

I would claim Big Walk before even deciding what to install. A new co-op game landing on PS Plus Essential on day one is the rare part of this month’s drop, and it gives subscribers a low-risk way to try a fresh multiplayer experiment rather than another game already buried in a backlog.

The August 2026 Monthly Games are available from Tuesday, August 4 until Monday, August 31: Big Walk for PS5, Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition for PS5 and PS4, and Signalis for PS4. Add them through the PlayStation Store’s Monthly Games section on console or the app. Essential, Extra, and Premium members can all claim them, and claimed titles remain playable as long as the subscription stays active.

Big Walk is the immediate pick for groups. Made by the team behind Untitled Goose Game, it is a cooperative adventure designed around communication, exploration and strange situations, supporting two to 12 players. Its PS5-only status is the one important limitation, but it is the lineup’s clearest “try it now” game.

Dying Light 2 is the safer long-term download. The Reloaded Edition brings the zombie action and parkour open world to both PlayStation generations, making it the broadest and biggest commitment of the three. Players who want one substantial game to keep installed should start here. Signalis, meanwhile, is the compact alternative: a deliberately paced sci-fi survival-horror game with retro presentation, inventory pressure, and clear echoes of early Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

Claim all three before August 31, then install by mood: Big Walk for friends, Dying Light 2 for scale, and Signalis for the month’s sharpest single-player experience. This is a strong Essential month, with Big Walk’s day-one arrival the decisive reason not to miss it.
