PS Plus September 2026: MLB The Show 26 Leads Four-Game Drop

The platform split is the key detail: MLB The Show 26 is the PS5-only headline pickup, while Chained Echoes is listed for PS4 only. Players using either generation still have two cross-gen claims in Sniper Elite: Resistance and Wobbly Life, but PS4-only subscribers should not expect to add Sony’s baseball game through this monthly offer.

The four PlayStation Plus Essential games go live on Tuesday, September 1, and remain redeemable until Monday, October 5. Adding them to a library during that window preserves access while the PlayStation Plus subscription remains active. MLB The Show 26 is the immediate priority for PS5 owners: it also receives a free Jump Start Bundle from September 1, containing five The Show packs, a Jump Start Choice Pack, and a Road to the Show Equipment Bundle. The bonus requires an internet connection and PlayStation Plus membership, and runs through October 6.

Sniper Elite: Resistance offers the broadest traditional action pick across PS4 and PS5. Set in occupied France during World War II, it follows a sniper pursuing a Nazi secret weapon. Wobbly Life, also on both consoles, goes in the opposite direction: it is an interactive open-world sandbox with up to four-player co-op and local split-screen.

Chained Echoes rounds out the set on PS4. Its 16-bit-inspired JRPG adventure takes place on Valandis, where three kingdoms are locked in conflict. That makes September’s lineup a notably varied set, spanning sports, stealth action, social sandbox play, and a lengthy role-playing game rather than four games aimed at the same audience.

Before the switch on September 1, Essential members have until August 31 to claim August’s outgoing games: Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk, and Signalis.
