Rematch
Like Aisle, this is a game that only lasts one move; you're expected to repeat that move many, many times. Unlike Aisle, though, this is a puzzle game--there's…
Sloclap’s first major Rematch update (v1.200.100), released July 23, 2025, on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PS5, tackles a host of quality-of-life fixes without reinventing the wheel. From full button remapping to more reliable keeper physics and initial colorblind kit options, this patch smooths out rough edges—though crossplay remains conspicuously absent.
Veterans of FIFA and PES will breathe a sigh of relief: the remapping menu now lets you reassign sprint, shoot or any other command in isolation. “Finally I can use my instinctive layout without relearning everything,” says Reddit user u/SoccerTactix. While macro binds remain off the table, this move alone slashes the frustration of misplaced tackles or phantom passes.
Kit clashes can derail matches for color-dependent players. The new option to flip home and away kits in the pre-match menu brings instant clarity, especially in online lobbies. Discord moderator PitchPerfect notes, “This is a solid first step—pattern overlays can’t come soon enough.” Sloclap confirms that a true full-screen, pattern-driven colorblind mode is on the roadmap.

Subtle tweaks here have outsized impact. Collision boxes around defenders are now more precise, eliminating random rebound tackles that felt like pure luck. Goalkeepers have also been retooled to hold soft shots rather than deflecting them, cutting down on fluky goals and rewarding clean build-ups.
Crossplay remains the elephant on the pitch. Sloclap cites server architecture, UI adjustments and netcode tweaks as roadblocks, promising “more news soon.” In comparison, EA FC 24 and eFootball support cross-platform matchmaking out of the box—integrated even into career and tournament modes. Without crossplay, Rematch faces fractured lobbies and limited competitive reach.

Players on Reddit and Discord applaud the QoL improvements but lament the crossplay vacuum. “These fixes make Rematch feel more polished, but it’s still siloed,” says u/GoalLineTech. Across forums, competitors warn that tournaments risk low turnout without unified matchmaking. EA FC 24’s built-in crossplay, combined with eFootball’s recent updates, set a high bar that Rematch is still chasing.
On the surface, there’s nothing flashy here—no new game modes or superstar signings. But better controls, clearer visuals and tighter physics are the glue that holds a sports sim together. These refinements lower the entry barrier for newcomers and reward seasoned players’ skills. Still, until crossplay arrives, Rematch feels more like “phase one” than a finished product.

Patch 1.200.100 delivers full controller remapping, colorblind kit swaps and key physics/keeper fixes—making Rematch smoother and more accessible. The absence of crossplay, however, keeps it from matching modern multiplayer standards.
