Announcement Details
At Summer Game Fest, Capcom confirmed Resident Evil 9: Requiem will launch on February 27, 2026. It’s set to release on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, combining survival horror, action and adventure.
New Protagonist
Requiem introduces FBI agent Grace Ashcroft as its lead. Tasked with investigating the lingering trauma of Raccoon City, her story pivots the series toward psychological horror and tense atmospheres—moving away from the high-octane spectacle of recent entries.

Remake Roadmap
There’s no Resident Evil 5 remake announcement. Trusted insider AestheticGamer (aka Dusk Golem) reports Capcom will tackle remakes of Resident Evil 0 and Code: Veronica before even considering RE5. Meanwhile, leaks hint at a possible Leon Kennedy cameo in RE9, but no word on returning characters like Rose.

With Requiem’s early 2026 release, Resident Evil 9 aims to recapture the tension and dread that defined the series, while Capcom’s careful remake strategy charts a cautious, nostalgia-driven course through its past.
