Resident Evil Requiem
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth entry in the Resident Evil series. Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into puls…
After spending a good chunk of my first Resident Evil Requiem playthrough wandering around Roads Hill wondering what safe I’d missed, I finally sat down and routed every single one. The breakthrough came when I realized two things:
1) The codes are actually written in files you can easily walk past, and those files also count toward the “read every file” trophy.
2) On Insanity mode, the combinations change, so it’s way easier to grab all the codes and safes properly on a standard run first.
This guide walks you through every safe (plus the STARS briefcase) in order of appearance, gives you the exact combinations, where to find the file that reveals each one, and what you’ll get for cracking them. I’ll also flag the spots where I almost locked myself out of the all-safes trophy, so you don’t repeat my mistakes.
If you just want the combinations, here’s the full list. Direction means which way to rotate the dial. Think of it like classic Resident Evil safes: stop exactly on the number before switching directions.
The five numbered containers are what you need for the “open all safes” trophy. The STARS briefcase is optional for that trophy, but grabbing it while you’re there will save you a lot of backtracking later.
This is probably the first safe you’ll see, and it’s exactly where I started overthinking things.
Where the safe is:
In the Bar & Lounge on the 2nd floor of Roads Hill’s West Wing. The safe is sitting right on the bar counter.
The catch is that this room has a wandering singing zombie plus two regular infected. You can technically sneak the safe without killing them, but I learned the hard way that coming back here later with worse spawns is even more annoying.
Enemy tip: If you do decide to clear the room, use a Hemolytic Injector on the singer if you can spare it. Otherwise those enemies have a good chance of coming back later as Blister Heads, and that gets nasty fast.
Where the code file is:
Keep playing through the West Wing 2F until you reach the south‑western office (a small office beyond a set of double doors). On the desk directly opposite the doors is a note with the safe combo. This file also counts toward the all‑files trophy, so make sure you actually read it (interact and bring it up on screen).
Combination & reward:
Dial in Left 10, Right 80, Left 30 to open the bar safe and you’ll get 3× Antique Coin.
What finally worked for me: I now grab the code file as soon as I hit that office, then immediately double back to the bar before progressing the story in that wing. It adds maybe two minutes of walking but keeps everything in one clean loop.

This one is easy to see but even easier to forget, because the game distracts you with a big set‑piece right before you find the file that reveals the code.
Where the safe is:
In the Examination Room in Roads Hill’s East Wing, sitting on a counter near the corpse missing its organs. You’ll pass this room naturally as you explore the wing.
Where the code file is (Chunk ambush area):
You’ll see the code written as: Right 30, Left 10, Right 50.
Combination & reward:
Back at the Examination Room, spin the dial Right 30, Left 10, Right 50. Inside are another 3× Antique Coin.
Time‑saving tip: Don’t make my mistake of grabbing the file, saving, and assuming you’ll remember to come back later. The best time to open this safe is immediately after the Chunk encounter while the route through the wing is still fresh and relatively safe.
This is the one that cost me my first all‑safes trophy. The code is obtained with one character, but the safe itself can only be opened later with another. Miss the code file and you’re in for an annoying replay.
How the sequence works:
Where the code file is (Leon in the attic):
After beating Chunk with Leon, continue down the hallway. On the right, by the stairs, there’s a closet with a warped door. Leon can pry these open using his hatchet (interact when the prompt appears).
Inside the closet is the file with the safe combination: Right 60, Left 40, Right 80. Read it so it counts for the file trophy.
Where the safe is (Grace in the basement):
Once you’re back in control of Grace in the basement, explore the north‑western room. There’s a small office near a powered‑down forklift; the safe is in that office.

Combination & reward:
Enter Right 60, Left 40, Right 80. This safe doesn’t give coins – instead you get a map showing all Mr. Raccoon statues in Roads Hill. If you’re trophy‑hunting those collectibles, this map is huge.
Critical warning: Do not leave the basement area before opening this safe. Progressing the story can make it much harder or even impossible to return depending on your route. I always open it the moment I find the forklift room, before touching any other objectives.
The next container isn’t technically a “safe” for the trophy, but it’s absolutely worth doing. It’s also one of the more classic Resident Evil puzzle chains in Requiem, full of references.
Where the briefcase is:
When Leon returns to the Raccoon Police Department, head to the STARS office on the 2nd floor (west side). In the small storage room at the back of the office is a locked briefcase with a three‑letter dial.
You can’t brute force this easily; instead, you follow a little breadcrumb trail of files and photos.
All three words begin with R. That’s your clue.
Combination & reward:
Back at the briefcase, set the letters to R R R. Inside you’ll find the Power Shades charm, a stylish little reference that also gives your handgun bullets piercing properties and boosts the damage of the last round in the magazine.
Why I recommend this even though it’s optional: The damage bump and piercing effect make crowd control way safer in tight corridors, especially on higher difficulties. It doesn’t count toward the all‑safes trophy, but the associated files help with the file trophy, and the charm is strong enough that it’s worth the few extra minutes of sleuthing.
The final stretch of safes is in the Ark, when you’re exploring as Grace. Both codes are hidden in the same nasty area, so you can grab them in one pass and then open both safes almost back‑to‑back.
Where the safe is:
From the Ark lobby typewriter, head up to the 4th floor east. The Sterilization Chamber is just up the stairs on that side. The safe sits on a counter inside the room.

Where the code file is (Bioweapon Repository 5):
The combination is written as Right 10, Left 90, Right 20.
Combination & reward:
In the Sterilization Chamber, enter Right 10, Left 90, Right 20. You’ll get a nice survival bundle: handgun ammo, a Molotov cocktail, and a Med Injector.
Lickers survival tip: On my first run I tried to sprint through Repository 5 and kept getting chain‑stunned. It’s much safer to lure one Licker at a time toward the door, use tight corners to break line of sight, and only then duck into the side pod to grab the file when things are quiet.
This is the last safe you need for the trophy, and conveniently its code is also in Bioweapon Repository 5.
Where the code file is (same repository, different pod):
Where the safe is:
Return to the Ark lobby. The Control Monitor Room is a small side room just off the lobby, with obvious banks of screens. The safe is hard to miss once you’re inside.
Combination & reward:
Dial Left 50, Right 60, Left 80 to open it. You’ll receive an empty bottle, a bottle of acid (for crafting stronger throwables), and another Med Injector.
Trophy note: Assuming you’ve opened the three Roads Hill safes and the Sterilization Chamber safe before this, popping this final one should trigger the all‑safes trophy immediately.
From my runs and what I’ve seen in the community, here’s how I’d handle safes if you’re planning on going for the platinum:
Once you’ve followed this route, you’ll have:
If you stick to opening each safe as you pass through its area, you can grab everything in a single standard playthrough without ever needing to reload an old save. I had to learn that the hard way; you don’t have to.
