Restore Aurora 5’s generator, cross Nexus Plaza, and enter the Garden to reach the Head Gardener’s office. Open the office with a keycard or by hacking, then loot the body inside to retrieve the Gene Sucker. The Bertha Shotgun and map attachment are useful pickups to collect along the way.
The Bertha Shotgun is easy to pass by in Garden section B. Look for the hanging body: the weapon lies at its feet. It is a worthwhile detour before you push toward the Head Gardener’s office.
Part 2 continues Aurora 5’s exploration after generator restoration. This guide starts with that power check, then covers Nexus Plaza Garden, office access, the Gene Sucker, and the named pickups and access codes for this stretch.
Table of Contents (7)
Restore the generator: all three lights must turn blue
Use the power wrench on the generator’s faulty components until all three indicator lights turn blue. That is the completion condition: the generator becomes operational and the elevator becomes usable. If you are stuck at the elevator, check the lights before searching for another access item.
Before leaving, check the available elevator, ladder, and ventilation routes. These give you alternatives for moving through this section and returning to earlier areas. Open accessible shortcuts as you progress so backtracking does not mean repeating the entire outward journey.
Cross Nexus Plaza and find the Garden entrance
Head into Nexus Plaza and use the nearby station-map terminal to download map data. Your next destination is Nexus Plaza Garden; look for the entrance marked Garden.

A desktop console in Nexus Plaza Garden requires a password. Keep that interaction separate from the Head Gardener’s office door, which uses a keycard or hacking. A password prompt at the desktop does not mean you need a password to enter the office.
Collect the Bertha Shotgun in Garden section B
In the area marked B, find the hanging body and collect the Bertha Shotgun at its feet. The Heal-a-Dome is another landmark in this section, but the body is the marker to look for when locating the weapon.
A spider encounter occurs near section B. Treat the weapon pickup and the encounter as separate tasks: collecting the shotgun is the loot objective, not an instruction to kill everything in the area. RetroSpace supports stealth, hacking, combat, and environmental approaches to obstacles.
Open the Head Gardener’s office and retrieve the Gene Sucker
Continue through the Garden to the Head Gardener’s office. Its door can be opened in either of two ways:
- Use the required keycard.
- Complete the door’s hacking minigame.
Arriving without the card does not block this route. Use the hacking interaction rather than leaving the Garden to search for a keycard.
Once inside, loot the body to obtain the Gene Sucker. The body is the pickup location—not the office terminal. Check the nearby map-terminal area for the HUD attachment before leaving this stretch.

Check the PHCD, HUD attachment, and other pickups
Use these landmarks to catch the named pickups without confusing map data with the separate attachment for your HUD, the on-screen interface:
- PHCD: After entering the Angel-Symbol Door and watching the cutscene, check beside the corpse. The PHCD is next to it.
- Map Attachment: In section C, in the Head Gardener’s office area, inspect the corpse near the map terminal. Collect the attachment for your HUD; downloading map data at the earlier terminal does not replace this pickup.
- Audio log and Cosmi Cola: Both are additional pickups in this stretch. Keep them on your checklist while exploring between the main objectives.
The important distinction is between using a map terminal and collecting the Map Attachment. Check the corpse beside the section C terminal rather than assuming the terminal interaction has given you everything there.
Useful Aurora 5 access codes
These codes apply to early Aurora 5 access and connected-area backtracking. Match each to its named interaction; they are not interchangeable passwords for the Garden desktop console.
- 0937 — Janitor’s room: Opens the room containing a handgun.
- 1477 — Stasis turret security override: Turns the stasis turret friendly.
- 9636 — Nexus Gardens security override.
- 1212 — Garden storage room: Opens the storage room.
Use security and shortcuts before spending ammunition
The 1477 stasis turret override is a concrete alternative to treating station security as another enemy to shoot. Likewise, the office’s hacking option solves an access problem without requiring its keycard. Use the interaction that fits the obstacle rather than assuming every blocked route needs combat.
After collecting the Gene Sucker, use the shortcuts you opened to backtrack for any missed pickups. Section B’s hanging body and section C’s map-terminal corpse are the two landmarks worth checking before you leave the Garden behind.
