Wait for the Early Access build to prove its management depth before treating Wonderworks as the long-awaited full return of RollerCoaster Tycoon. Atari is selling a deliberately unfinished, roughly year-long co-development period — not a feature-complete revival — and its most important systems need hands-on testing.
Springloaded, the studio behind Let’s Build a Zoo, is building Wonderworks around the series’ isometric park-management format. Players will construct rides, track guest needs and feedback, hire janitors, mechanics and mascots, assign staff to park zones, research new designs and buy more land. The major addition is a dedicated coaster editor with adjustable speed, acceleration and duration, alongside updated physics designed to let attractions malfunction and even break apart.

That chaos is the central unknown. Breakdowns and disasters can add pressure to a management sim, but they need clear causes, workable repairs and predictable consequences. Constant failures, unreliable pathing or physics exploits would undermine the careful planning that defined the older games. The same applies to queues, guest spending, satisfaction and progression: these systems must support repeatable park-building rather than merely decorate a coaster sandbox.

The initial version has two parks, Hollow Creek and Forest Frontiers, plus more than 60 rides, coasters and shops and over 150 scenery and decoration items. More content is planned throughout Early Access. The eventual 1.0 release is expected to expand to six parks and add a classic builder mode that will not be available at the start.

Steam Early Access is due in winter 2026, but no exact date, system requirements, technical targets or console platforms have been announced; consoles arrive after Early Access with the full PC release.
