Watching Simon Ordell sweep St. Amelia’s fog with that chunky handheld CRTV, the important thing is clear: Townfall is built around isolation — and its launch plan extends that isolation to two major console audiences. PS5 is the only console joining PC on September 24, 2026, while Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 are sidelined until at least late March 2027.
That wording matters. Silent Hill: Townfall is a PS5 console exclusive, not a PlayStation-only game: PC players can buy it day one through Steam and the Epic Games Store. But “not available on other consoles until at least six months after release” is a minimum window, not a promise that an Xbox or Switch 2 port arrives the moment it ends. Konami has not set a post-window release date for either platform.
The extended 18-to-19-minute gameplay footage gives the wait a sharper edge. Developed by Screen Burn Interactive, formerly No Code, Townfall puts players entirely in first person as Simon explores the fictional Scottish island settlement of St. Amelia. The CRTV is more than a flashlight substitute: it identifies signals and enemies, can reveal threats through walls when aimed, and supports navigation through the red-glowing Otherworld.

This is survival horror with room to avoid trouble, but not without teeth. Simon is shown using a plank in melee and later finding a gun, placing resource decisions and evasion at the center of its exploration and puzzle-solving loop. That premise fits a studio lineage associated with Stories Untold, while carrying Silent Hill’s psychological-horror weight into a new location and perspective.
PS5 physical copies are available for pre-order, while digital Standard and Deluxe editions are also planned; the $59.99 Deluxe edition includes 48-hour early access, an alternate Simon outfit, interactive artbook, and digital soundtrack. Co-op and multiplayer have not been confirmed, so there is no basis to expect cross-platform play to soften the staggered console rollout.

Verdict: PC and PS5 players can plan for September; Xbox and Switch 2 owners should wait for a real platform announcement after March 24, 2027 rather than treat the six-month mark as a release date.
