Silver Pines Demo: Ferry Route, Motel Codes and Key Locations

FinalBoss6 min read

To reach the ferry in the Silver Pines demo, complete the tunnel encounter, collect the ferry-office key from the basement area, then use the ferry office’s radio control to call the ferry. If progression stalls at the Rabbit Hole, switch on the bar-counter light after Eddie Velvet’s final performance.

The motel guest number is run-variable, while the supply/weapon locker code is 6671. These are separate puzzles. Follow the motel register in your own save rather than copying another player’s guest number: an otherwise correct walkthrough can give you an answer that does not fit your playthrough.

Scope: this guide covers the current demo’s diner, motel, tunnel encounter, ferry office and ferry ending, plus the Rabbit Hole trigger, phone-booth saves and memento preparation. It is not a walkthrough of the broader Parts 1–6 hub route through Downtown, the Sheriff’s Station, Union Apartments, Loomis Park, Town Hall and Church Hill.

Diner and motel: match each code to its own clue

The Oldest Diner sign key is an early progression item. Give the diner’s documents and environmental objects attention before moving on; these supply investigation details alongside the items needed to advance.

At the motel, treat the guest-number puzzle and supply-locker combination as separate clue chains. A number found during motel exploration should not automatically be applied to every nearby keypad.

  • Run-variable motel guest number: inspect the Crimson Bear Motel guest register or ledger and find the entry associated with Eddie Velvet’s Grizzly Suite. Enter that guest number at the gate requesting it. Examples from different runs include 04123, 21217, 806502 and 91076; none is a universal answer. Preserve any leading zero shown in your register.
  • Date-dependent gate clue: a separate clue uses “23 plus the current day of the month.” The November 11 example produces 2311—23 followed by 11, not the arithmetic sum 34. Follow the date clue in your playthrough rather than treating 2311 as fixed.
  • Supply/weapon locker: 6671. The woman in Motel Room 3 supplies this code for the store’s supply/weapon locker. Do not apply it to a separate meat-locker puzzle.

Use the photograph feature to attach relevant images to the map. Mark the locked door and its associated clue so that returning to the area does not require another search for the same information. This is particularly useful when the motel register, Room 3 clue and the locks they serve are in different locations.

If a combination fails, return to its clue and check the lock, digit order and any leading zeros. Re-entering another run’s guest number will not resolve a run-variable keypad, and the supply-locker code will not open the motel gate.

Use phone booths to preserve progression

Phone booths are save points; 77221 is the payphone save number. It is not a motel gate code or ferry-office combination. Use an accessible booth after resolving a puzzle or collecting an important progression item, and preserve a save before entering the tunnel encounter. That keeps a combat failure from also costing your preceding exploration.

A booth stop is also a useful point to review your documents and map photographs. Identify the unresolved lock you are working toward before returning to exploration, especially when carrying clues for both the motel guest number and the supply locker.

Rabbit Hole: activate the light after Eddie’s performance

If progression stalls after Eddie Velvet’s final performance at the Rabbit Hole, switch on the bar-counter light. This is a fixed progression interaction after listening to the performance, not a run-variable code puzzle.

Make this your first check when the performance has finished but progression has not followed. Returning to unrelated locks or searching earlier rooms will not address the missed light interaction.

Tunnel encounter: prepare for the fight and check the reward

The tunnel contains a boss encounter, followed by a boss-earned memento and access to the ferry-office progression. Save at a phone booth beforehand where one is accessible, and avoid spending scarce combat resources immediately before entering the encounter.

Mementos are equippable items with gameplay effects, not just keepsakes, so review your equipped items before the fight. Stamina increases and reduced-damage effects are useful preparations for the tunnel encounter. A damage-boosting memento that also increases incoming damage carries a direct survival cost; read both parts of its effect before equipping it.

Exploration effects serve a different purpose. A swimming-efficiency memento, for example, belongs in your traversal planning rather than being selected solely for the tunnel fight. Equip for the immediate obstacle instead of treating every newly acquired memento as an upgrade.

After defeating the tunnel boss, check your memento inventory for the reward and revisit the newly accessible rooms. Keep the boss reward distinct from the ferry-office key: winning the fight does not replace the key-collection step.

Ferry-office key: search the basement, then use the radio control

Search the underground basement area for the ferry-office key, checking the desk and beneath the poster in the motel/store area. Collect the key and use it to enter the Silver Pines Ferry office.

Inside the office, interact with the control board’s radio switch labeled for the chain-operated ferry to call it. Then activate the ferry to finish the demo route. The office key, radio call and ferry activation are separate steps.

  • If office access is blocked: check that you collected the ferry-office key, rather than only the tunnel boss’s memento. Recheck the basement desk and poster interaction in the motel/store area.
  • If the ferry has not been called: use the chain-operated-ferry radio control inside the office after unlocking it.
  • If progression stopped at the Rabbit Hole: return to the bar-counter light after Eddie’s final performance.

Do not try 6671 or 77221 as ferry-office answers: they belong to the supply/weapon locker and payphone save system. For the ferry ending, collect the key, make the radio call and activate the ferry.
