The important change is not the wardrobe addition: PS5 Pro players now have a new image-reconstruction option to test in one of Sony’s most technically demanding first-party games. Enhanced PSSR is designed to improve perceived detail and clarity, making this patch most relevant on a large 4K display where softness or instability in motion is easier to spot.
Version 1.005.000 adds two free outfits for Peter Parker. The Fresh Start Suit is inspired by Spider-Man: Brand New Day, while the second costume draws from Arc System Works’ MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Both are available after installing the patch, with no separate purchase or progression requirement.
The Fresh Start Suit is the straightforward film tie-in; the Tōkon costume is the more stylized addition, with a look distinct from the game’s usual suit designs. Players who simply want more cosmetic options have little reason to delay the update.

Insomniac has added Enhanced PSSR support for PS5 Pro, using Sony’s AI-based upscaling technology to reconstruct the image. The expected benefit is cleaner fine detail and sharper presentation, particularly in dense city scenes and fast traversal. Exact resolution and frame-rate changes have not been specified.
That makes it worth testing rather than assuming it is automatically better in every scene. Reconstruction techniques can produce visual artifacts such as shimmering, unstable edges, halos, or unusual texture detail. PS5 Pro owners using 4K TVs should update now and compare the new result on their own display; players especially sensitive to those artifacts may prefer to wait for detailed comparisons before settling on it as their default.

The update also enables Power Saver support across PS5 consoles. The system-level option reduces energy use by lowering performance and/or resolution, so it is aimed at players who value lower power draw over peak presentation. It must be enabled through PS5 console settings and selected for Spider-Man 2; the patch does not provide exact performance targets.
Update immediately for the suits or PS5 Pro testing; treat Power Saver as an efficiency mode, not a visual upgrade.
