Active noise cancellation can be excellent for removing fan noise, traffic, and other distractions. It can also make internal sounds feel more prominent for some players because the outside world becomes quieter while breathing and voice vibrations remain.
Turn ANC off briefly, then sit in a quiet part of the game and breathe normally. If the Darth Vader effect drops immediately, ANC is contributing to the discomfort. You can leave it off during relaxed home sessions and save it for louder environments where external noise is the bigger problem.

Sidetone plays a controlled amount of your microphone signal back into your headset. At a low level, it gives you a more natural sense of your own speaking voice and helps prevent the instinct to talk louder over the game.
