Both games are confirmed for the Nintendo GameCube app within Nintendo Classics on Switch 2. Access requires an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. Nintendo has not announced release dates for either title, so subscribers planning their backlog should treat them as upcoming rather than immediately playable.
Sunshine is the more revealing addition for players who want to revisit GameCube-era platformers without the smoother, more forgiving rhythm of later Mario games. Its water mechanics ask players to spray, suck up, and redirect water to clean surfaces, activate switches, and fight enemies. The free camera gives players more control over how they approach levels, but it also makes precision platforming and navigation less forgiving. Collecting all of its objectives remains a substantial commitment, with secrets and challenge stages designed to test movement rather than simply reward exploration.

Pokémon Colosseum provides the counterweight: a strategy-focused RPG built around team composition and battles rather than platforming execution. Its arrival matters because it expands the GameCube offering beyond Nintendo’s most obvious first-party staples and gives Pokémon fans a way to revisit one of the series’ distinct console formats through the subscription library.
Separately, Games Done Quick has scheduled AGDQ 2026 for January 4 through January 10 in Pittsburgh, though its full game lineup, runners, and charity partner details have not been announced.
