This is a multiplayer systems check, not a broad pre-release demo. FromSoftware’s late-August test will put The Duskbloods’ online structure under real player load, including sessions built for groups of up to eight. That makes connection quality, matchmaking behavior and combat balance the relevant measures-not simply how much content participants can access.
Applications open July 22 and close July 28 through a Nintendo Account. Players need a Nintendo Switch 2, an active Nintendo Switch Online membership and their Nintendo Account ready before registering. The test is exclusive to Switch 2; the original Nintendo Switch cannot access it.

Selected applicants will receive notification on August 7. The closed Network Test then runs from August 21 through August 24, 2026, across multiple scheduled session windows. Exact session times vary by region, so an invitation does not necessarily mean uninterrupted access throughout the four-day period.

The practical priority is whether The Duskbloods holds together when players are placed into its intended online encounters. Participants should note queue times, failed connections, party formation, latency during combat and whether matches remain stable as more players interact. Balance matters just as much: unusually dominant weapons, abilities, builds or tactics are the type of issues a closed test is intended to expose before launch.

Players planning to apply should ensure their Nintendo Account and Switch Online subscription are active before July 22, then monitor the August 7 selection notice and regional session schedule.
