Act 4: Eternal Rest Overview

Act 4 in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin looks straightforward on paper, but in practice there are three places most runs fall apart: the first big Abyss Flower fights, the timed small-boat section, and keeping Daisy alive during the Farewell Island defense. This guide walks through the entire act in order, with the specific movement routes and combat priorities that finally made these sections consistent for me.

By the end of Act 4 you will:

  • Clear multiple Abyss Flowers in the Fairy King’s Forest and on West Liones Beach
  • Reach Farewell Island through a timed boat course without failing the timer
  • Defend Daisy from 15+ Abyss enemies and defeat the Howling Servant of the Abyss
  • Unlock and use the Purification and Restoration constellation abilities
  • Finish the act by cleansing the initial Abyss Flower in the Fairy King’s Forest

Step 1 – Fairy King’s Forest: First Abyss Flower

Act 4 starts when the Book of Stars directs you back to the Fairy King’s Forest, where an Abyss Flower has taken root. You will find Daisy already on site and the flower on the verge of blooming.

As you approach the flower, Abyss monsters spawn from the shadow beneath it. In my runs, this has consistently been a pack of five enemies.

Combat tips for the first wave

This fight is more about warming you up than actually threatening a wipe, but it sets the tone for later defense segments.

  • Open with AoE: If you have any wide-area skills on Tristan or your backup characters, lead with those. The enemies spawn close together, so circular or line AoEs can hit multiple targets.
  • Stay on the move: Don’t stand in one place spamming attacks; get used to attacking, dodging, and repositioning, because that rhythm is crucial on Farewell Island later.
  • Watch stagger timings: A lot of enemies here can be interrupted. I found it safer to do short strings (2-3 hits) and dodge instead of going for full combos and eating a counterattack.

Once you defeat all five enemies, Harlequin (King) shows up. He decides to remain behind to keep an eye on the Abyss Flower, and Tristan’s group goes looking for a way to purify it. This sets up your next stop: Liones.

Step 2 – Royal Library of Liones and West Liones Beach

Finding Clotho in the Royal Library

Fast-travel or run back to Liones and head to the Royal Library on the western side of the city. Inside, Clotho is standing near the shelves. Talk to her to trigger a long story beat about the Abyss Flowers and their corruption.

Even though she downplays the usefulness of her research logs, she sends you toward West Liones Beach instead, hinting that you might find a clue there.

West Liones Beach: Second Abyss Flower

From the castle, head northwest toward the beach. When you arrive, you will see another Abyss Flower and Dreyfus already dealing with the situation.

More Abyss monsters spawn here. In my experience this encounter asks you to defeat at least seven enemies before the scene advances. This wave can feel slightly more hectic than the one in the forest because of the open shoreline layout.

  • Pull enemies away from the flower: Kite the first few spawns a little away from the center. This keeps the field cleaner and makes it easier to see incoming enemies.
  • Use knockdowns when you can: Any skill that launches or staggers will help you thin groups before they surround you.
  • Don’t over-chase ranged enemies: Close the distance with a dash, finish them, and get back toward the main cluster quickly.

After the fight and a short conversation, a fisherman arrives with a report about Farewell Island, an island that matters a lot to Daisy and is now overrun with corruption. Daisy insists on going, which leads into the boating portion of the act.

Step 3 – Reaching Farewell Island and the Timed Boat Course

Large ship to the staging islet

Near West Liones Beach, board the large ship at the dock. You sail automatically toward Farewell Island until you hit a dense field of corruption mines in the water. At that point, you stop off at a small island nearby to find another way through.

Once you land on this small islet, walk across it to the opposite shore. You will see several smaller boats waiting. Interact with one to start the timed traversal segment.

Small boat timer – route and controls

As soon as you board the small boat, a five-minute timer appears. This clock is generous if you know the route, but my first attempt failed because I hesitated around the wreck and wasted too much time.

Basic control tips (keyboard defaults will vary by your settings):

  • Use your standard movement keys (commonly WASD) to steer the boat.
  • Hold your sprint/accelerate key (often the same as your regular sprint, like Shift) when lining up with waves to get more distance and speed from jumps.
  • Use the camera to look slightly ahead rather than straight down at the boat; spotting mines and waves early makes steering much smoother.

Using waves and clearing the wreck section

The course has three important elements: ocean waves you can ride for speed, a shipwreck with a gap, and corrupted water you must not touch.

  • Ride the waves: Early in the course you will see clear swells in the water. Aim your boat so you hit the upward slope of a wave while accelerating. The boat will hop forward, covering a big chunk of distance. If you just cruise past them, you technically still make it in time, but you leave yourself less margin for mistakes.
  • Approaching the wreck: There is a large wrecked ship ahead with a whirlpool in front of it. Steer slightly to the side of the whirlpool; brushing the edge can throw your line off and cost you time.
  • Jumping between wreck pieces: Past the whirlpool, the ship is split into two main chunks with corrupted water between them. You want to use a wave (or just full acceleration) to jump from the first solid segment to the second. If you land short and touch the corrupted water, you risk failing the attempt or losing too much time getting back on course.
  • Minefield after the wreck: Once you clear the wreck, slow down a notch. Mines are scattered in patterns that are easy to weave through if you are not going full speed. I started easing off the sprint key in this section to focus on clean turns.

If you keep your line smooth and use at least a couple of waves, reaching the destination with over a minute left is very doable. The key is not panicking at the wreck gap – line up straight, commit to the jump, and avoid over-correcting mid-air.

Step 4 – Farewell Island: Following Daisy and Starting the Defense

When you arrive at Farewell Island, disembark and follow Daisy inland. She leads you to a large memorial surrounded by multiple Abyss Flowers, with a Constellation Stone in the center. This is where the act gets much more demanding.

Understanding the Daisy defense phase

As soon as the enemies begin to spawn, a unique UI element appears: Daisy’s HP bar in the top-left corner, just under your quest text. If her HP hits zero, the sequence fails and you have to redo the fight.

The objective here has two layers:

  • Defeat 15 Abyss monsters while keeping Daisy alive
  • Then defeat the boss, Howling Servant of the Abyss, while still defending Daisy from additional small enemies

Wave management – what actually keeps Daisy alive

My early failures here had the same pattern: I focused too much on enemies near me and not enough on spawns near Daisy. The AI likes to send a couple of enemies straight for her each wave, and if you let two or three stack up on her, her HP melts.

  • Fight near Daisy, not at the edge: Stay within a short sprint distance of Daisy at all times. Ranged enemies or stragglers can be pulled toward you, but do not chase them far.
  • Prioritize anything targeting Daisy: If you see an enemy running past you toward her, swap targets immediately. Even interrupting one attack on her can be the difference between success and a reset.
  • Use crowd control on the center: Save your better crowd-control or AoE skills for when multiple enemies are clustered near Daisy rather than blowing them on lone enemies.
  • Heal between waves if needed: Use quick heals or defensive skills in the small breathing windows between spawns. Do not pop long wind-up animations when Daisy is already under attack.

Boss: Howling Servant of the Abyss

After you clear the 15 normal enemies, the Howling Servant of the Abyss appears. Dreyfus joins you in the fight, but small Abyss monsters continue to spawn periodically and will still target Daisy.

This is where you really have to balance boss DPS with protection:

  • Learn the boss rhythm quickly: Watch the Howling Servant’s first few attacks. It usually has a pattern of wide swings and occasional area hits. Once you know the reach of those swings, you can position so Daisy is not in the same line.
  • Don’t tunnel-vision the boss: Every time you dodge away from the boss, glance at Daisy’s HP bar and the minimap for red dots near her. If a new small enemy has spawned and is sprinting toward her, peel off and delete it fast.
  • Chip the boss rather than going all-in: I had better success playing safe – short combos into dodge – than trying to burn the boss down and tanking damage.
  • Use Dreyfus as distraction: The boss will often lock onto Dreyfus. When that happens, circle behind and get your damage in, but be ready to break off if adds go for Daisy.

Once the Howling Servant goes down and the cutscene triggers with Abyss tentacles trying to strike Daisy, you are effectively through the hardest combat of the act.

Step 5 – Unlocking and Using Purification

During the cutscene, the Book of Stars freezes time for everyone except Tristan, absorbs energy from the central Constellation Stone, and purifies the tentacles mid-strike. After control returns, you can interact with that same stone to permanently unlock the Purification ability.

How Purification works

Purification is used on Abyss Flowers and corrupted objects in the environment.

  • Equip or select Purification from your constellation abilities menu if the game doesn’t auto-assign it.
  • When you approach an Abyss Flower, you will see an on-screen prompt indicating you can use Purification.
  • Hold or press the indicated button (depending on your control scheme) to channel the ability until the interaction finishes and the flower disappears.

On Farewell Island, your immediate goal is to purify the four Abyss Flowers around the memorial. Walk the area in a circle and cleanse each one. There is no timer here, so you can take a moment after the intense fight to reposition your camera and controls if needed.

Step 6 – Unlocking Restoration and Repairing the Headstone

With the island’s Abyss Flowers purified, you will notice that the central memorial headstone is still broken. To fix it, you need a second constellation ability: Restoration.

Finding the Restoration Constellation Stone

From the main memorial area, head east. Near where one of the Abyss Flowers used to be, there is another Constellation Stone. Interact with it to obtain the Restoration power.

Once acquired, Restoration behaves similarly to Purification but targets broken structures instead of corrupted ones.

Scanning and restoring the headstone

Go back to the center of the memorial. The headstone is shattered into multiple pieces scattered around the immediate area.

  • Activate the appropriate interaction mode so you can “scan” objects (watch for the on-screen hints for your platform).
  • Move around the memorial and scan each broken piece of the headstone. If you miss one, the restore action will be unavailable, so take a full lap around the area.
  • After all fragments are scanned and highlighted, return to the main piece and use the Restore command. Restoration will reassemble the headstone into its original form.

This completes Daisy’s goal on Farewell Island and effectively resolves the core story thread of Act 4 on the island itself.

Step 7 – Return to West Liones Beach and the Fairy King’s Forest

With the headstone restored, it is time to wrap up the act. Dreyfus decides he needs to head to Ferzen, the mining town, while Daisy chooses to remain on Farewell Island.

You and Dreyfus return to West Liones Beach. Use the Warp Point there to fast-travel if you have it unlocked; it saves a bit of backtracking. After a short scene, Dreyfus leaves for Ferzen, and Tristan’s next task is to check back in on the Fairy King’s Forest.

Final cleanup: Purifying the original Abyss Flower

Travel back to the Fairy King’s Forest, to the location of the first large Abyss Flower from the start of the act. When you arrive, Harlequin is in the middle of a fight with more Abyss creatures.

Help him defeat another five enemies. This encounter is significantly easier than the Daisy defense, especially now that you have seen more intense waves, so keep up your usual attack–dodge flow and dispatch them quickly.

Once the enemies are down, talk to King. Now that you possess the Purification ability:

  • Approach the original Abyss Flower.
  • If Purification is not currently slotted, interact with the nearby Constellation Stone on the right side to reacquire or re-enable it.
  • Use Purification on the flower to cleanse it completely.

Purifying this final flower in the Fairy King’s Forest is the last required action of Act 4. After the short follow-up dialogue, the act ends and the story moves toward Ferzen and the next major chapter.
