Which purchases include early name reservation?

Early Name Reservation is included with the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack, and Warcraft Forever Collection, including the Collector’s Edition offering. Each eligible account can reserve and customize up to three characters.

Check the entitlement on the WoW account intended for launch. Access obtained through a beta invitation does not substitute for an eligible purchase, and having played a character during the beta does not secure that character’s name for release.

How to reserve your launch names

Use the eligible WoW account during the October 27-November 3, 2026 reservation window, with dates given in Pacific Time. The reservation feature allows you to create and customize up to three launch characters. Saving each character submits its complete name for reservation.

Prepare both parts of each name before entering the creator, along with several replacement combinations. An availability check does not hold a name while you continue making choices: another player can submit the same combination first.

Prioritize the character whose exact name matters most, then complete the remaining reservations. Treat the three-character allowance as the account’s reservation limit, and check that each saved character appears correctly before leaving the reservation feature.

Reservation does not grant early gameplay access. It secures characters for the November 4 launch. The October window is for character preparation, rather than leveling or entering the world.

How regional first-and-last-name checks work

World of Warcraft: Forever evaluates the complete first-and-last-name combination. That combination must satisfy Blizzard’s naming requirements and be unique across the region. An available-looking first name does not establish that the full pairing can be reserved.

Regional uniqueness also means that choosing another realm within the same region does not create a separate naming pool. Plan alternatives around different complete names rather than expecting a realm change to free an occupied combination.

Why an apparently available name can be rejected

• The complete combination is already reserved. Change the first name, surname, or both, then submit the new pairing. Checking only one component misses the combination-level conflict.
• The combination violates naming requirements. The system evaluates both parts together, so splitting a restricted word between the first and last names does not bypass the filter. Replace the offending wording.
• One component fails a check. An acceptable result for one field does not clear the other field or the complete name. Reconsider both parts when the creator rejects the submission.
• Another player submits first. Availability can change between checking and saving. Move to a prepared backup combination rather than repeatedly submitting the occupied pairing.

A randomly generated name is another fallback if the preferred combinations fail. It still needs to pass the same naming and regional availability checks when submitted.

Beta closure, reservation dates, and launch timeline

The beta’s first phase caps characters at level 20, while its second phase raises the cap to 30. The Classic-plus launch plan sets a level-60 cap, followed by horizontal progression through additional gear, max-level zones, and dungeons rather than expansion-driven level increases.

Beta characters are wiped and do not transfer to the full release. A name used during testing therefore needs a fresh reservation during October 27-November 3 if you want to secure it before launch; beta ownership gives it no priority over another player’s submission.
