World of Warcraft: Unlock Lordaeron’s Loss Gravestone in Midnight

World of Warcraft: Unlock Lordaeron’s Loss Gravestone in Midnight

FinalBoss·8/25/2026·8 min read

A planned death in the blighted Ruins of Undercity unlocks Lordaeron’s Loss, a hidden gravestone secret for World of Warcraft: Midnight Delves. The important catch is the timeline: you must die in the present, post-Battle for Azeroth version of Tirisfal Glades. If you are standing in the intact old Undercity with the Time Travelling buff, the death will not count.

Patch 12.1 hides the achievement completely. There is no achievement toast, no visible tracker update, and no reason to assume the trigger failed until you check it manually. The clean route is to phase Tirisfal correctly with Zidormi, die inside the Ruins of Undercity sub-zone without fighting a boss, respawn, then run /dump GetAchievementInfo(61456) in chat.

What Unlocks Lordaeron’s Loss

Lordaeron’s Loss is a secret Midnight Delve gravestone tied to hidden Achievement ID 61456. The condition is effectively “Die in Lordaeron or Undercity,” matching the German achievement text Sterbt in Lordaeron oder Unterstadt.

The trigger happens in the open world, not inside a Delve. You do not need a Delve clear, a boss kill, a raid group, or a particular difficulty tier. The Delve connection comes afterward, when the hidden achievement unlocks the Lordaeron’s Loss gravestone state.

Use the Ruins of Undercity area for the death. Tirisfal Glades is the broad zone, but the ruined Undercity sub-zone is the reliable place to perform the trigger. Avoid treating any random death in northern Tirisfal as sufficient.

Set Tirisfal Glades to the Present Timeline First

The secret requires the ruined, blighted version of Lordaeron created after Battle for Azeroth. In this phase, Undercity is destroyed, the city is covered in blight, and the old vendor-and-service layout is unavailable.

Zidormi is the key NPC. She stands on the road between the Ruins of Lordaeron and The Bulwark, roughly halfway along that stretch of Tirisfal. Flying to Brill and heading toward Lordaeron is a practical way to reach her if you are already in the zone.

  • Check your buffs before attempting the death.
  • If Time Travelling is active, you are in the older pre-war phase.
  • Speak to Zidormi and choose the option that returns you to the present.
  • Confirm you are back in the blighted, ruined version of Undercity before proceeding.

Do not pick the intact vendor phase for this secret. That older version of Undercity is useful for Hallow’s End vendors and the traditional city layout, which is why many players instinctively switch to it. For Lordaeron’s Loss, that instinct sends you to the wrong phase and prevents Achievement ID 61456 from updating.

Getting There From Horde and Alliance Routes

Horde characters can use the Orgrimmar portal to Tirisfal Glades, then travel toward the Ruins of Lordaeron and the Ruins of Undercity. Alliance characters can approach through the Undercity sewers entrance, with Zidormi near the wider Lordaeron approach for timeline handling.

The Orb of Translocation in Silvermoon City is a trap for this particular unlock. It can place you into an older Undercity state, which helps with legacy-city access but works against the present-timeline requirement. Use Zidormi’s present-phase option instead.

Die in Ruins of Undercity Without Clearing Anything

The fastest controlled method is a fall death. Enter the Ruins of Undercity while correctly phased, fly high enough to take lethal fall damage, then dismount. Remove or avoid effects that stop lethal falls, such as Slow Fall, Levitate, gliders, immunity effects, or movement abilities that might save the landing.

The present Undercity’s blight also provides an environmental route. Stand in a damaging blight area and let the zone kill you. This method fits the theme perfectly, though a controlled fall is generally easier to repeat because defensive gear, healing, and movement can make blight damage less predictable.

Death methodWhat it needsWhy it worksBest use
Flying-mount fallFlying access and a safe high dropCreates a quick, enemy-free death inside the correct sub-zoneThe most controlled method
Blight damagePresent ruined Undercity phaseThe blighted environment can kill you without combatGood backup if you are already in the hazard area
Seasonal Undercity portal deathAn event portal that deposits you into the blightSome portals can kill players on arrival in the current phaseA situational shortcut, not a dependable baseline

There is no advantage to fighting guards, elites, bosses, or other players for this. A clean environmental death removes extra variables and keeps the attempt focused on the actual condition: dying in the correct Undercity area while in the present timeline.

Verify Achievement ID 61456 in Chat

Release and respawn after dying, then enter this command in the chat box:

/dump GetAchievementInfo(61456)

The command prints several data fields into chat. Read the fourth line of the output. If that line says true, the hidden achievement is complete and Lordaeron’s Loss is unlocked.

This check matters because the secret produces no conventional UI feedback. Waiting for an achievement banner wastes time, especially if you died through a portal or blight and had no obvious moment to connect the death with the unlock. Achievement ID 61456 is the reliable confirmation, regardless of client language.

Why the Secret May Fail to Trigger

Almost every failed attempt comes down to phasing or location. The character dies in the old intact Undercity, dies somewhere too far outside the Ruins of Undercity sub-zone, or assumes the lack of an achievement toast means nothing happened.

  • Time Travelling buff active: Return to the present with Zidormi, then repeat the death.
  • Intact Undercity visible: You are in the wrong phase for Lordaeron’s Loss.
  • Zidormi is missing or has no phase option: Complete the Return to Lordaeron questline first.
  • No achievement popup: This is expected; run the ID 61456 dump command.
  • Chat output does not show true on line four: Recheck the phase and die again specifically within Ruins of Undercity.

If Zidormi Is Unavailable

Zidormi’s Lordaeron timeline options can be locked behind the Return to Lordaeron questline. Alliance characters begin with Eyes of the Wolf in Oribos, while Horde characters begin with Call to Lordaeron from Orgrimmar or Oribos. Completing that chain grants the Return to Lordaeron achievement and opens the timeline access needed for the secret.

Older characters with fragmented Battle for Azeroth or Shadowlands campaign progress can also run into phase confusion. Handle the Return to Lordaeron requirements before repeating deaths; repeatedly jumping from the wrong version of Lordaeron accomplishes nothing.

What the Unlock Does in Midnight Delves

With Achievement ID 61456 set to true, Lordaeron’s Loss becomes available as a secret Delve gravestone cosmetic or environmental detail. The unlock is tied to Midnight’s small-group Delve system, even though the achievement itself is earned in open-world Tirisfal Glades.

The exact Delves and layouts that display the gravestone are not established, and the available information does not confirm whether the unlock is account-wide or character-specific. Treat the character that earned the hidden achievement as the confirmed owner until the grave state is verified on an alt.

The Reliable Lordaeron’s Loss Checklist

  • Travel to Tirisfal Glades and locate Zidormi near the Lordaeron approach.
  • Return to the present, post-Battle for Azeroth timeline.
  • Make sure the Time Travelling buff is gone.
  • Enter the Ruins of Undercity, not merely the wider Tirisfal zone.
  • Use a controlled environmental death, preferably a flying-mount fall.
  • Release and respawn.
  • Run /dump GetAchievementInfo(61456).
  • Confirm true on the fourth output line before looking for Lordaeron’s Loss in Midnight Delves.
