WoW Forever’s November Launch Sets Up Blizzard’s Three-Track Future

Blizzard is no longer treating Classic as a trip through old expansions. World of Warcraft: Forever freezes its progression ceiling at level 60 and expands the original-era world instead, giving Warcraft three long-term lanes: Modern WoW, Classic, and a permanently updated Classic+ branch.

What Forever adds at launch

Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. The announcement uses both PST and PDT for that time, despite the date and hour otherwise matching. Core access comes with an active WoW Subscription or Game Time rather than a separate base-game purchase.

This is a much larger reset than a seasonal Classic realm. Blizzard has outlined three new zones, more than 1,000 quests, nine dungeons, two raids, improved world visuals and lighting, and the Skyborne Elves as a playable race. Mount Hyjal and Zephras Isle are among the areas tied to its expanded Vanilla setting, while endgame raids will support 10- and 20-player groups.

The gated beta begins September 17 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. Access requires the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection; the Skyborne Heroic Pack does not include it. Secondary coverage places the beta level cap at 30, but Blizzard has not detailed every test rule or its final content scope.

Retail’s next milestones

Retail WoW continues on a separate schedule. Patch 12.2, Eclipse, is the next named Midnight chapter and puts Xal’atath at the center of the immediate Worldsoul Saga story. It is expected in early 2027, but Blizzard has not set a release date or published its full feature list.

Beyond Eclipse sits The Last Titan, the Worldsoul Saga finale, with a 2027 launch window but no confirmed month. The practical split is clear: Forever is the November destination for players who want new content built around level-60 Warcraft, while Eclipse and The Last Titan remain the path for retail characters and the saga’s conclusion.
